If it's really in great condition, obviously toward the north end of that. They are GREAT basses. I'd love to find one that's just beat up enough to let me strip it without feeling guilty. That natural one posted a day or so ago has really gotten my attention. I'm thinking matte finish, or oil finish, black hardware.
I just got more information. It’s a Gen 2 with non-original pickup’s and preamp. It has Bartolini soapbars and unsure about the preamp. I will be able to tell more tomorrow, after I see it.
Hmmmmm. In my brain, that might actually decrease the value. I like barts, but a TL-FIVE is a thing. Rip the guts out, and you've effectively got a parts bass. Might arguably sound "better" than stock, but it's not stock. Others may disagree. That's OK. They can be wrong.

Peavey VFL's and a Cirrus preamp = my all time favorite set up. I used it in at least 4 custom basses and it ALWAYS delivered.
I’ve been looking at pics of the TL-5. Some jack-wagon has routed additional length to the pickup routes so they could fit some Bart MK-1s. The routes look to be very close in length to the plastic Super Ferrite surround (or ring) piece. If that’s the case, putting SFs in it would require either glueing wood back in the cavity, to mount the ring to, or custom making surrounds that are bigger than the originals.
I’ll take an SF with me tomorrow to see if I am correct.

I ordered a Gen 2 TL5 in natural finish. It was a beautiful bass that I sold. In those days I thought Tobias and Ken Smith were THE basses. I've learned better. I should have kept that TL5 and now I want another one.
The problem I see with TL5 pricing is that folks are asking the same or more that you can get a Cirrus 5 for. That does not make sense to me. I realize that some players prefer the 34" scale TL5 but 35" works great for me and my Cirrus 5 is a fantastic bass. I have about $650 in my Cirrus 5 and it is as new in the case. Yes, I got a good deal but that came through some trades that were tilted in my direction.
Each time I am tempted to pay a high price ($700 or so) for a TL5 I get out my Cirrus 5 and play it for a few minutes and then ask myself "Could I possibly get another Peavey 5 that I love better than this?"
No, the answer is no......and I still will keep looking for a really nice original TL5 in great shape for a good price just because I have evolved into a Peavey bass nut. I also would love to get a Millennium Plus 5. I wish I had been wiser when these lovely basses were new on the dealer shelves.

Ive seen a few TL5 in the midwest over the years knowing they were quality but the price always scared me....locally plenty of Peavey players since the late 70's but recent years the used Peavey stuff hung on racks unless marked way down.
Well, thats changed very recent years...im trying to decide whether to actually spend $500+ for a used Peavey bass when i have a pair of Foundation (One a 5er) and a Fury all with killer necks and i tend to prefer things passive....decisions!
That's the way it is in the UK. ebay sales from last month.
Forum PJ £80 no takers. 6 string walnut Cirrus £600. 6 string fretless Cirrus £700. 4 Foundations no buyers. T20 sold for £250.2 Dynabass no takers.
Most of these had been up for months.
I’ve seen TL5s go from $ 500-900. It seems to come in waves. T-40s,foundations, some of the other US basses in vg condition are starting to bring real respectable money around here - banged up or modded Peavey’s are still to be had very cheap. Which is great if you plan to keep them

If your plan is to re-install Super Ferrites in this bass, don't do it. Especially if it's been routed. Either buy it because it has Bartolinis, or don't buy it all all. $325 is a good price, but trying to restore it makes the enterprise not worthwhile.
I have a TL-5 fretless with Bartolini Jazz pickups installed. In my opinion, it sounds a lot better than stock. The best sounding fretless I've ever played, as a matter of fact. But as Bassiklee said, even though it sounds spectacular, the value is lower than it would be if it had the stock SF pickups.
I love cheap quality basses that I can mod and have fun with. Restoration is not my plan.
As I told BassikLee in a PM, I played the TL-5 and couldn’t resist buying it! It played like my Cirrus 6ers did: straight firm neck, low low action, very little buzz (less than I actually tweak into my main players), it sounds amazing, even with the lower quality Barts. And, it’s got a fresh set of Sadowsky strings on it, and the softcase it came with is a Sadowsky case. So, it’s great quality and lightweight. I gave him $300, and had planned to offer even less until I played it.

Interesting! Oh well, if it ain’t broke...
The bass DID sound REALLY good!! The pickups aren’t mounted well though. So, I will definitely look into sticking my spare set of SFs in it, and see how they sound with the current preamp.
What aftermarket preamp works well with SFs?
