I also changed the bridge on my 90s Foundation 5, but not because the original wasn't properly located - I wanted slightly wider string spacing on mine... I used a MIM Fender 5 string bridge, and it duplicated the spacing/feel of my EBMM Sterling 5 HS... I also agree that the Foundation 5 is all I need in a 5er, and I've gigged mine hundreds of times - even though I still have the Sterling 5 HS, a Spector Legend 5 Custom(neck thru), and a Schecter Hellraiser 5... The Foundation 5 plays as well as any of them, and sounds great - it's the only passive 5er I've ever liked... Truth is, there is nothing I can't get done as a bassist with the 3 USA Peaveys I own...

Thats awesome....yea, you know a bit wider spacing would be better but i can deal with it...the question is whether to go with flats for reduced finger noise and more comfort ( i have excema and nerve pain) but the rounds sound great!
I am getting back into practicing everyday and I have decided to open the flight case of my Axcelerator Plus tonight to give it a look. I had not opened that case in ages. The bass is still set up. A pristene bass with no damage whatsoever, factory condition and set up by a friend. The batteries are dead. Oh my. I buy two new ones tomorrow.

Yes, its been to my last two gigs. Both outdoors. I used it for about 8-10 half step down songs. I have Chromes on it which I love with Super Ferrite pups. I used it alongside my Bongo on the last gig. Sounded every bit as good in the mix with tone pot on about 3/4. Always get good feedback when I do use it. I think the Fender 9050's would be good as well...that's what I have on my Patriot. But I'm currently in love with Chromes.

It made me gig-gle.
Cobalt flats are really bright, like 90% as bright as rounds when new, and they hold that brightness for quite a long time, relative to other flats I have tried.
There is also pressure/ground/half wounds if you like the round thing with a softer feel.
I haven't tried the half-flats... I've been trying GHS Precision Flats Regular. I'm not real good with the fingers so stiff strings keep me from bending too much. So far they've been nice and punchy.

Funny small world.... for the life of me, can't remember what I wrote...
Nothing compromising. Just that this bass had never been set. The strings still have a new sound and the setup is still right. I just need to tune it and see if it's off.

Not a great deal. Forum AX has ash or alder body and an ABM bridge. Axcelerator has a poplar body and a cheaper bridge,unless it's the 2-Tek version. I think the Forum AX also has a wider nut.
They both share the same preamp. The Forum VFLs have a different shell from standard VFLs.
