Well, I just won the carcass of a supposedly 1987 lefty Foundation 4 ($26 )

It's just the body, neck and tuners and looks to be in pretty harsh shape but I was looking for a fun project bass to parctice my rebuild/refinishing skills on. It's currently black with matching headstock but I've got a couple of cans of ReRanch Daphane Blue that I will probably use on it.

I'll have to decide on what to do about the electronics SF pups seem fairly hard to come by so I might go with a MM config if I can't find any.

Anyway, it probably won't be done for awhile but I'll post pics when it is.

Yes. The only question mark of course is the actual condition of the neck, it looks okay but there is no way to tell from the pics if there is any twist to it. If there isn't then all the rest should be straight forward repair/refinish work.

Congrats.. your bass is quite unique and rare.. it's a morphed T20 beofore they went down the Pbass clone route.

Very cool.. interested in knowing how you like it.

Hi I have a T-40 and A Foundation in Gold they are in the Picture.

The T-40 IMHO is a Great playing bass for Country and Stuff you want a BIG bass tone on and The Foundation has a Good Clear JazzBass Tone

My '82 T-45 arrived last night! I only got to play it unplugged for a while last night but I'm loving the wider neck/string spacing and I like the beefy bridge/tuners. I haven't weighed it yet but it has some heft to it. Can I have a number? Here is a pic from the ebay listing:

I'll have to take some sexier pictures of my gear and give an update.

Congrats on the T-45. I have one that is amazing. I put a Dark Star in it. The only issue is the weight. Almost 14 lbs!!! I have TI flats on it and it really thumps.

Because of the weight though I'm thinking of selling to buy a Hofner Contemporary. Selling my T-40 too.

My '87 Foundation, however I will be buried with.

I just got an old T-20 from MNAirHead and it's awesome. The neck feels like a P and J neck at the same time to me, very cool. It also sounds awesome and is very light and comfortable. Complete steal for the price too, amazing deal.

I'll get flamed for this.. I've always thought T-20s played/sounded better than the other TBasses... first Ferrite bass with premium hardware.. can't go wrong.

Glad it arrived in great shape.. gotta love contour cases

After spending some time with my Peavey Forum tweaking the string height, adjusting the p'up height, took apart one pot to fix (Thanks MNAirHead) it just got moved into the #1 position (bumped out the ATK). The sound that I had at last night's practice was what I have been trying to get. I am unable to explain it in words...but it was right. Just wanted to share
