U.S. Peavey Club

Hey all. Looking to join the club and get a number. Currently own and use a single 15 bottom. Picked it up used and the plate's gone so I'm not sure what model it is. I pair this with a 2x10 to pick up the highs. Awesome sound! Looking to find a T-40 at some point too.

So number please...

I'm with you.. out of all of them.. this is the one I never got.. a T20 has the same mojo.. sounds great.. weighs less.

I'd bet you could trade your T40 for a Fury and Foundation..

IF your bass is in good condition, please post it here before the ads.. it would be nice to have it go to a loving home.

Timmy

I'll definitely post pics when I decide to put it in the classifieds here, I think its in decent shape for being an early '79 (patents applied for) its all original except the typical replaced switches. Its been a player its whole life, the previous owner realy dug in with low action so the rubber toaster pickup covers are scraped up, and the natural finish is worn on the upper side of the body, not helped by the fact I used to wear spiked wristbands (I was a kid, I liked metal, I have no excuse :rollno: ) But other than the wear and dings from being rocked hard for 30 years, its solid as a rock and plays extremely well. Definitely the most solid neck I've ever had on a bass, the truss rod has barely any tension put on it and it is straight as an arrow.

I'm definitely selling vs. trading, I'll still be a member here for my old ('77) amp. It may have been made as a PA amplifier, but it sounds good to me, especially with a nice 1x15 cab... though I lost track of my club number :hmm:

I believe it's an '89 (if the serial numbers on Wikipedia are to believed.)

I've changed out the strings, glued some frets down, had a few leveled and burnished, set the relief and adjusted the action.

Now that I know I can set it up the way I want I plan to tear it apart and refinish it. Not crazy about black bodies.

Quickly becoming a favorite..not bad for $75.00

I $old off all my Peavey's about 2 years ago, including:

Rudy Sarzo Signature
G-V
G-Bass
TL-5 with Super Ferites
Patriot
RJ-IV
Foundation

And I recently sold off my last 2 5ers, only to find out I REALLY Need one now.:crying:

Well, as Kung Fu Tze (Confuscious) Says:

When the Bassist is ready, the 5-String appears!

I got this from a fellow TBer who wanted to trade for an EUB. I was HAPPY to work out a deal with him, and now I've got a 2nd Gen TL-5!

Has anyone put a D-Tuner on a Peavey 5er before? I REALLY need one of those too. My latest project is either all over the "B" string, or in dropped "D". I can usually get in & out of Dropped "D" in about 5 seconds. but Flipping that Lever is Way Cool!

MaddAnthony_59, check my info in post 451 in this thread.

Pics of my TL-5s in posts 439, 448 and 461.
The Transluscent Red and Koa have D-tuners on the E string.

The Sunburst Maple TL-5 in 461 is like yours. That maple weighs a ton. I had a D-tuner on it when it had black hardware but put it on a 4 string bass I play more.

Thanks Mech,

I'll check it out. It looks like I really need to get something like this.

Well, its time to send her to a new home. Up in the classifieds, my '79 T-40. As previously posted, good condition except some finish wear and dings, all original except the toggle switches commonly broken off from that era. Posting a few pics here, many more will be in the classified thread.

Hey guys, i was just wondering about how much an Axcelerator is worth. Theres one up at the local shop that im sure has been there forever (like most of the other used basses) because they tend to ask way to much for used gear. As of now the price is $399 or aso which i find insanly steep but i cant find a solid price point for them.

I bought an Axcelerator 6 last year off CL for $275.00 and most of the ones I have seen for private sale have been in the 300.00 or so range. 399.00 seems to me to be a little on the high end but they are great basses and IMO well worth that price. There are a couple that have been on evilbay for a while now they are asking outrageous amounts of money for.
