I heard the rumor in the Scott Grove video where he was talking again about how much he knows about everything.
He threw a fit when I told him that his GV did not have a Modulus neck.
He wanted to argue about it in public which I was happy to do.
Kept saying his had a Modulus no matter about any others.
He finally gave up...or maybe just shut up.

I like his T-40 video. But, he has some stuff wrong in that one as well, IIRC.

2 interesting Peaveys. The guitar side came first, basses didn't appear until 2011. My guess is Peavey though they had heavy metal players covered with the Dave Ellefson Zodiac DE Scorpios. Dave finished up in 2010 hence the PXDs the following year.

They come from Peavey's Chinese days. Back then they were giving the factories a realistic budget and Mike Powers was over there in charge. Both were well constructed with great finishes. The through necks are lovely and a change from the standard 1 1/2" nut. G&B again were providing the pickups and preamp, 18v powering both. Hardware are Gotoh and ABM clones.

Body shape throws the balance off slightly but not by much, just a little dive. If you like the peg head at 2 o'clock, these prefer 3 pm :D Not the lightest, my two nudge past 10lbs.

They were a bold move for Peavey's last original bass design.

Just a follow up question as I just pushed the button for a Void on R'verb, and there's a Tragic still on the Bay right now.
Why 2 models? What are the differences?

Full disclosure, I apologize, I do realize these aren't US basses, and this is my second infraction... It's just that there is such a vast amount of Peavey knowledge on this particular thread...I can be directed elsewhere if need be.

It's funny that you should compare the Millennium neck to Ibanez because it reminds me a lot of the neck on my SR480! I think that's why it's so comfortable for me and why it just might have ruined me for other fivers. I really like the thinness which makes the neck not seem so wide.

I can help with this one.

Gbass neck is thicker from front to back....... Millenium is more flat

Gbass is slightly more sustain. (not as much as my modulus stuff)

My preference is the millennium profile..

The GV Neck will fit in the neck pocket of a Millenium body. There is a bit of work as requires shimming.

I'm currently finishing up a G-Lenium conversion.

GV neck sustain comments: agreed. The G series necks are not built the same as the Modulus necks. The G necks are wood necks, with an outer skin of graphite weave/resin applied. As such, they are quite a bit more flexible than a Modulus neck, which is all CF and resin, though they are hollow. My quick and dirty guess is that the G neck has about half as much carbon fiber in it as the Modulus neck. I'm not saying the G neck is flexible. It's much more stiff than a wooden neck, but it's also much more flexible than a Modulus neck. If a maple neck is a 1, and a Modulus neck is a 10 in terms of stiffness, I'd put the G necks at about a 6.

Clear as mud?? Good.

Not quite so sure about that. My previous comments were based on laziness ( the Tragic was near at hand) and Peavey's manual. Just been in the cupboard above the stairs to unearth the Void.

It's not 18v but 9v :jawdrop:

Checked on Google and Peavey manuals, everybody is saying 18v yet mine is 9v.

Given the size difference between 9 & 18V battery boxes it would be clear had somebody powered down the Void.
As you can see the 9v is factory fitted, Tragic uses the usual Peavey recess covered by a plate.

Currently hunting for fresh 9v batteries so I can A/B the two properly.

Interesting. I think they changed the recipe at some point.
I worked for a Peavey dealer when these came out. I remember the only difference was body shape. Looked a couple up to confirm/deny my fuzzy memory.
Both have the same cover for the battery rout in every photo found, who's to say what is exactly under the hood, though. :)
Curious... is it the same preamp as in the Millennium or Cirrus?
Also, I'm breaking the US Peavey rules discussing this here! ;)

Could be the angle of the pics, but the cover on the white one appears to be slightly wider....?
