I'd venture to say there's not many with the pickguard plastic still in place. I didn't even know it showed the switch functions and had the Peavey logo. That's pretty damn cool.

I pull off pickguard plastic before I ever play a note. I also pull the tags off my blue jeans before I wear them, and remove the plastic collar support from a new button up shirt.
Anyone wanna offer me 2k for my white 83', 2 owner beauty. Oh yeah if you want pictures that will be $200 extra.

My kids were 12 and 15 when we moved here...today they don't say "You Guys" like I do.
They don't say Y'all.

One of my brothers, who moved to Leesburg Florida in the early 80's says he is fixin' to do stuff all the time.
When I first moved to Texas, I had to learn to speak more slowly and stop dropping the F' Bomb constantly in an effort to make people more comfortable around me.

For my family in Michigan it's "you's guys".
There's alot of people around here fixin' to do stuff. Sooner or later it gets done too! Leesburg has a big Bikefest thing every year a month or so after the big Bike Week in Daytona. My b in Laws old band played a couple years back. He and I have gotten along real well since the day we met - he's a Bassist as well. His son played guitar in that one and he is a monster!
And we do everything slower down here cause it's usually too darn hot to do anything fast!
I've lived in North Carolina since 1998...originally from Canada where the Fbomb is used constantly, even in the business environment and in mixed company. Southern women would never use the Fbomb and it wouldn't be spoken in their presence. Big difference. My kids were all raised here for the most part and they can turn the southern accent on and off at will....quite funny actually.
I know how that works too! My family is from Michigan and Ohio but I was born and raised in Florida. Depending on who I'm talking to a southern accent just comes out. I'm not trying to, it just happens. I've always thought that was a strange thing.
Your situation sounds exactly the same as mine, Rochester is about 75 miles from the Canadian border.
My kids still sound like New York, the part of New York that sounds more like Toronto or Cleveland or Detroit.
Austin doesn't have much of a Texas accent anyway, people born and raised here sound nothing like Fort Worth or Houston, or West Texas.
One of the two owners of the small company I came to Austin to work for is born again Christian, and he grew up in Midland Texas.
He was very annoyed with my filthy language, so I had to learn to slow it down and clean it up.
I finally have a TL5 again. This one is the prettiest color IMO. It was bought from GC used by the previous owner and had been converted to passive. He had a Bartolini preamp installed and it sounds great. No, it does not sound quite like it would with the original electronics but it is still a great sounding bass. It plays great and the frets are showing almost no wear. I've already put new tuners on it and changed the gold knobs to black. It still needs a careful polish job and will get that the next time I change strings.
It may be a one off. It is a reddish brown 'burst....not orange at all.
When the Gen 2 was in production I special ordered one in clear gloss. Can you imagine how much I regret trading that one? It had fantastic wood in it.
East TN from birth here, 49 years old. I can write very intelligently, and speak well too, when it matters: conducting meetings, giving yearly evals, etc. But, dang y’all... I can’t escape my roots! And, I absolutely do not think fast enough to talk fast! The only time I speak fast is when I’m enraged, and I say some brutal stuff I always regret. So, I’ll continue to try to think first and speak slow, LOL!
Back to Peavey stuff... I may need to sell some basses soon. Covid has struck my household and will affect us financially. My favorite, if I had to pick, would be the salmon Foundation. But, it’s not been a closet queen and is not mint. So, I value it at more than I’d get selling it on TB. I kinda feel the same about my other Peaveys too though. They’re worth more than they sell for. So, I may be reduced to selling off all my spare T-40 parts: pickups, knobs, etc etc.
