Shh... not on Talkbass! P basses with flats and a tort guard are the be all, end all!P-Basses are over rated....

I use some stainless steel rounds 45-105, just to get that extra bright snap, as my Patriot is modified with an additional pickup to be a Ric killer.I think I'm going to take the old Fender flats off my Patriot. I like the sound but they are just too stiff and hard to play. They've been on it for probably 30 years at least...I guess time for a change. What strings are people using on their Patriots these days?
Well, I'll bite. I agree! I'll take a Foundation over a passive J any day.Dang it ... we now have to hear Foundations>JBasses
Same, I have one actual P, with a single split coil pickup, built it out of Classic Vibe and Dirnt parts. It's a riff on the Dirnt P, fat maple neck, flats and all that 50s stuff. It turned out so good that I have yet to find a P to replace it! No Fury, but maybe some day...Excueable... I have a P... but no Fury (took me like 300 to find a P that was as good as a Fury)... needed it for my gear list
Otherwise, I do have that modified Forum Plus that is my "P", though it's really a P/J, as well as a Fender US Dlx P 5 string, which is a P, but technically a P/JJ...
