By leaps and bounds! I absolutely prefer carrying my 212XLT even though it's quite larger than my 210XLT. Simply because these handles on the 212 are almost exactly at the center of gravity. My 210 wants to tilt speakers-down all the time, so one-handing it sucks, need the other hand to keep it from twisting in your hand and wrenching your wrist.
For sure. I had both the 210xst and 212xlt myself. The 212xlt seemed much lighter than the 210xst, even though it wasn't. But I did weight mine, and Eden's specs were nearly spot on. I think I weighed mine at 74 pounds. The GB Neox 212 certainly feels much lighter than the 212xlt though. Mine was several pounds under the advertised 62. I want to say it was around 57, but it's been a while.
My "reference point" for all my cabs, both tonally and ergonomically, has been my church. I've used them all there many times. the stage is about 4 feet of the ground, in a gymnatorium type arena. The quickest way to get these cabinets up on the stage is to just lift them up and set them up there, versus walking up a small staircase. Even though the 210xst feels heavier, it was small enough to allow me to put it straight on the stage without using the stairs. Same goes for the Neox 212. I could manage the 212xlt this way, but I tended to walk it up the stairs. The placement of the handles on it allowed for easy carrying, but not easy maneuvering. The Neox 212 seems to be different. It's easier to maneuver, but not easier to carry. I can pickup the Neox 212, and pull the top of the cab flat to my chest, essentially sticking the bottom of the cab away from me, then slide it onto most any stage. Couldn't do that with the 212xlt. Also, lifting it as Roger mentioned is very easy. I've done this so many times with my Neox cab that I've even thought about putting skid rails on the back to help protect it better.
I use a cart for all my cabs, so I never carry anything. I will agree that the 212xlt "carries" better, even though it's at least 15 pounds heavier. But the Neox is just easy to move, and if you are moving it short distances, the kickback rollers make it very easy. I never carry any cab more than 50 feet though, and even then I'll probably use my cart.
I should note that I am very buff, and in good shape, with muscles abounding. The ladies love me, so perhaps that's why I have no problem throwing any of my cabinets around. Perhaps that's why you other folks are having issues.
(a joke, if it's not obvious already)
