My first inpression... REALLY FREAKIN' SICK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
TALK ABOUT A PLUG AND PLAY. I plugged in with my ussual setting, high mids cut WAY back, treble 3-4 clicks back. Bass and low mid up a couple clicks. IT WAS TOO MUCH. I set it dead flat and turned it on and OMG talk about a different animal than the neoX12's (112 or 212). My fiance' said it was hitting her in parts she doesn't even have. Dead flat, good lord what a tone. Tomorrow night I'll fly it live and really see... but right out of the box is unbelievable. Maybe I am getting used to the Genz tone but flat this thing will hurt you. It will 1000 watts which hust happens to be what the 1200 puts out at 4 ohms. It has a BIG tight clean bottom thickness and no need to eq it, just plug it in and turn it on. I have been playing 12's so long this cab in my was destine to fail me... one more time Genz has impressed the bajesus out of me. Nothing to get used to here, it is what a 410 is supposed to sound like. PERIOD.

How much?

Genz has the Uber cabs in the current price list on the website, under 'Support'.
Link Removed

List is $1299, compared to $1129 for the XB2. So probably around $1000 or so discounted at 'typical' 20% or so off list.

Oh, and by the way ... I talked to Dennis on the phone, and he's as excited about this cab as I've ever heard him be about anything.

Cheers

The mids are perfect. No other 410 I have played touches this one. With the 12's cabs to get my sound I had the high mids back to about 9 oclock and the treble back to about 10.. the bass and low mids at about 2 oclock. With the UBER 410 all is flat. Flat I say. boosting nothing at all and what a chest thumper. My Ken Smith fretted had NEVER sounded like this since I've owned it. From what I have heard so far it appears to be the perfect 410. The bottom is big but not huge/muddy like a 410 HLF. It is clean like an XST with enough agressive mids to make it cut without being annoying like a 410XLT(which every one knows for years it is the one cabinet I would never own). For you Eden guys, it is like the 410xSLt cabinet that should have been built. The down side is it feels heavy but that couls just be in comparison to the feather weigh 212. Doesn't really matter when it sounds like it does. Rate for 1000 watts it is the perfect mate for a GBE1200.

Aaaaah!!! More GAS...:eek::eek:
Is it out yet?
Dennis, hows the mids? Any other 410 to compare it to? 410XLT? 410XST? 410HLF?

I would also like to say that "I didn't want this cabinet". Roger sort of made me try it because he knew what it could do... Roger, you were right it is UBER in every way.

I thought you might dig it for three reasons-
* you and I are both fans of 12"s
* we are both "sensitive" to too much high mids
* we both use Smith's quite a bit.

We addressed the high mids that are often prevalent with neo drivers by designing our own speaker and by the porting. I'm thrilled you're finding you don't have to cut your high mids out with this cab. Also speaker placement on the baffle was critical.

Weight- well, it isn't as light as our 2x12 for sure but compared to "classic" 4x10's:
Our XB2 weighs 90 pounds and the Uber is around 70. Definetly noticed when you try moving both of them.

I am intrigued by these cabinets. I have loved almost everything about my 410 XB2 except for one thing: the weight. That cab weighs about 100 lbs, and its just too heavy for my relatively light gigging schedule. The tone, however, is perfect. Very articluate, yet perfectly capable of those deep thumping lows that those of us playing without PA support need. The weight is the only reason I'm selling mine.

I notice that the Uber is around the 75 lb mark, making it considerably lighter than the XB. That might "tip the scales" for me as it will take just enough weight off the cab to make it more manageable by a single man. I may have to reconsider my Neox 212 purchase.

If the GB guys are reading this, I just have one complaint: EDGE LIFT HANDLES. These things are in the most useless location, especially for one man trying to lift his cab in and out of a taller vehicle. Traditional side mounted handles allow the cab to be lifted further off the ground and make it easier to transport. I'm going to keep complaining about these until you change them.........

;)

Cool, cool...any chance you could a/b this with an Epifani UL410? :D

I've done a lot of comparo's with the Epi. I've been public with positive comments on the UL410.

The Epi is a little "sweeter" on the highs. The GB is a little more aggressive. i.e. ...I can get it to "snarl" a little bit more.

Since you're an MTD guy: If you want to sound like Andrew Gouche, the Epi is your cab. If you want to sound like Marcus, I'd go with the GB.

"Finger funk" tones- they're both so close.

I've been saying this for a while when talking about the NeoX cabs, and I think this Uber 410 weighing what it does would be even harder to get it up and in the car. Apparently more people have said they like them than dislike them (why, I can't tell you), so the guys as Genz Benz are sticking with them. I don't see how the top edge mounted handles make these cabs easier to pick up and carry. Sure, they may be easier to roll them short distances, but that doesn't do me any good when I have to carry the cab up a flight of stairs, or try to put it in my cars trunk or back seat.
