Ugh, Wisdom teeth.

Mine were yanked out a few years ago. I heard horror stories from all of my friends and family, so I was totally prepared for this horribly painful experience.

I'm not saying it was enjoyable, but it was no big deal. I had a little pain in my jaw just because it was pryed open all that time while they were working. After a few hours, I was just fine. I went to work the next morning.

I had my bottom 2 extracted about 3 years ago. Wasn't that terrible. Doc shot my gums with novicaine and proceeded to drill away. Good times. And the percocet was fairly enjoyable. ;) Just do what the docs say and don't smoke or drink out of a straw. Dry sockets are not fun.

All 4 the same day, and had my "nubs" where my caps were (two upper front teeth, broke 'em in half when I was a kid...long story) were re-shaped and re-cast for new caps.

No fun, no fun at all, not one bit.

However, it wasn't really painful either...just exceptionally uncomfortable and I didn't want to do anything or go anywhere for about 3 days afterward....just lie on the couch and sleep...

True, I can do that, lol.

And Figjam, that's what made me get them out too, the were pretty painful, and the bottom ones were far too deep, and under my other teeth, pushing the roots out :(

Get them out as soon as possible, they just suddenly get worse one day, and it's unpleasant.

I had mine pulled out back in June. All of my family was like "you will hurt so bad". I had them numb me up, so I got like 12 shots in the mouth which wasn't pleasent at all. It was over before I knew it, my entire bottom lip and chin were completely numb, which was the worst of all. I didn't hurt at all, the second day I forgot, and I was eating hard foods.:) The doctor told me the younger I was, the less it will hurt, I was 13 so I guess they were right. The bleeding was only for the first day, which is really annoying.

I'm going to have to get my bottom ones out, since they are growing in sideways on the x-ray.

For those who had it done, did you go under general anesthesia, local (novacaine only), or laughing gas/other sedative?

Mine were all the way in, but putting pressure on my other teeth. Since they weren't impacted it wasn't such a big deal. I was eating normally by the end of the next day It felt great getting rid of them.
