Joe, based upon what you are after, I would try two Ampeg SVT210-AV's. Man, do they pair up nice with the Walkabout!

Ultimate Walkabout Cab

Although I am primarily using just the Scout 12, this stack is almost frightening, esp w/ a 5 string. 2 8 ohm Schroeder 15+ L's. No PA required.
One of these 8 ohm cabs is actually louder than the 4 ohm Scout 12. They also make a nice combo when paired, the velvet glove followed by the back of the hand so to speak.

Very nice! Sounds like you don't need it, but could you imagine two of those 15+L's @ 4ohms each???

I guess what I would like to improve over the Avatar 410 is projection of the lows into the room and midrange dispersion (so it's easier to hear the real tone on stage if you are standing close). The tall SVT 210AV stack would help the second point, but would it help the first? I have been intrigued by the sealed 210's but I wouldn't want to carry three of them to get the thump.

as Lomo is about to do, I use my 4ohm Walkabout 12 with a 4ohm Scout 15 with very good results. Biiiig tone and plenty of headroom with nice sonic coverage between the 15 and the 12. When I use these cabs this way, I set the 15 to 5k (full range) and set the 12 to 3k using the Mesa user adjustable crossover settings. I push the tweet slightly on the 12 and set it flat (0db) on the 15. Great updated old school tone.
Another cab that I have started to use more and more is an Accugroove Tri115, full range 3 way cab. I have used it by itself with the WA head, and with the WA 12 combo stacked on top. The only issue I have with the Tri115 by itself is that, at 8ohms, it only gets ~160w from the WA. I do not play loud by any means, but I have found this combination gets me close to pushing the WA a bit into the fuzzy side of where I want my tone (full and clean).
OTOH, combining the Tri115 and the WA 12, you get a 2.67ohm load so the WA puts out more than 300w and does a great job.

reviving this thread for this. I'd like to hear this rig, and the 4 ohm suggestion might be a good one. That rig looks like a good example of the yin/yang thing. I've often thought that two of those cabs stacked with a warm fat amp would be killer. yet, it still looks portable.
I powered this stack of 2 EarCandy BassBomb 212 cabs(4 ohms each)with my Redfaced WA on my side of the stage while running a Genz Benz Uber 410 (on my guitarist's side of the stage) thru the GBE1200 head you see underneath the WA...it positively crushed those oozing HZ...I also like using it thru my Uber 410 as well...and my VT1 bass pedal just makes it all the more Ideal!!!
