Yeah that's pretty lame. Best to try eBay and get one from here? Would be less than 400€, but maybe shipping and taxes might hit you533 FREAKING euros. That's almost like a PF 800

Just looking for used ones.. It tell you.. 80% of Europe's music stores has thomann products. Which means thomann is actually one of the cheapest. I found one in hungary tho. But the prices are almost the same. They have special stuff tho, and they sell cheaper. For example Schecter Basses
I don't know if it's true that all things equal, a 4x10 is "deeper" sounding than a pair of 2x10's. I've heard that too, and it might be true, but it doesn't matter because all things don't have to be equal. There are plenty of deep-sounding 2x10's, as well as brighter-sounding 4x10's, to choose from.
One thing that I think sometimes confuses people's perceptions about this is that a pair of vertically stacked 2x10's might well sound brighter to you, standing in front of it, than a 4x10 sitting on the floor behind you. That's because if the 4x10 on the floor is blasting the backs of your legs, your ears will only hear the lows (which are more or less omnidirectional), whereas the mids and highs go right past you. The audience can hear your mids and highs, but you can't. One of the biggest benefits of the vertically stacked 2x10's is that by getting a couple of speakers much closer to your ear level, you can hear the entire range.
BTW, another advantage is that you don't have to turn up so loud to be able to hear yourself, for the same reason. I personally find this to be a huge benefit, especially in a small room and/or with a loud drummer, where it can be a real help in limiting volume wars. When I use my 2x10 stack, I find that the other guys frequently are asking me to turn up. And what bass player doesn't like being asked to turn up?)

Pretty much any cheap, decent class D head fits the bill. I wonder if those Kustoms are still available in Europe? The Peaveys and Bugeras would also work.
We're just discussing what's available to the OP, and addressing their concerns.
The Kustoms are! At least the hybrid ones. They're heavy tho.. I'm looking for a tone like this:

It's more concern for you getting one that will have issues or fail, leaving you high and dry
I'm really afraid of that indeed., I need to have a deep talk with the sellers about the series and date. Always good to have back-up plans.
