I currently own an old Peavey TNT 130 (15") and it sounds huge (out sounds the guitars, drums If I need to) but if I bring it outside. Bang, the volume is gone.

I really hope I'll get my hands on that eden! How much would it cost new? If I fail to get it, the 2x 210ampegs are still available.

Also waiting for answers about the faulty PF 500s'.

LOUD. Eden cabs are pretty efficient, though personally I would consider a better head than pf500. Fender rumble 500 comes to mind, but you can't go wrong with a higher powered GK or SWR rig, like a 1001rb or an SM500/900, bass550/750

The truth is.. That 300 euros is my price range, and the PF falls right into it. And I really need an ampeg tone. I live for the ampeg tone. Only another tone I would fall for, are the Mesa 400s. Also the carabines.
I missed a GK fusion 500 and a PF 800 for 400 €..

Right. I was going off the OP's interest in the PF500 which is rated down to 4ohms and the discussion centering on 2 8ohm cabs.

On paper yes.

And knowing it in your brain too. However personal experience with mixing all 8ohm cabs, d210xlt first on top of Goliath III, and later d410xlt, it actually works fine. Consider that each speaker is only theoretically putting out 3db less. It still works well in practice.

Besides, most of today's amps, especially the pf350, are limited to 4ohm anyway.

The Eden D410XLT has a sensitivity rating of 106db 1W/1M. The D410XST is 104db 1W/1M. Both are very efficient cabs and plenty loud. The XLT has the mid-hump and the XST has a flat response with lower and even more solid lows. Either of those cabs for €300 is an absolute steal.

The pf class d amps do the clean ampeg tone, but not a very well driven ampeg tone, from my memory playing with them a couple yrs back.

A rumble 500 head is $399 NEW, seen as cheap as $250 used recently. It has an overdrive (foot switchable too), as well as a cool vintage mode, you can get peg type tones from it, and they also seem louder than the pfs too.

No rumbles for sale atm :c I need the clean tone tho. I'm just wondering if the PF will get along with the Eden beast..

I knew a guy running a pair of d410xlt with an svt, every time he gigged, a guitar amp blew up, the drummer busted his kick and snare heads, and the bass was inaudible. Just kidding it worked just fine.

But the pf is not an svt... It will work fine.

Considering the pf500 track history, a rumble still could be a good choice. It is not 100% baked in fender tone, it can sound more like an ampeg than a gk mb series ;) you might even get close to 300€ new from a reasonable dealer, and have a full warranty too.

Seriously, try before you knock it for not being an ampeg.

What country are you in Ronnie?

And if there are 4 of them for sale at the same time and they aren't moving, it is quite possible they are from the questionable period.

An swr bass750/750x or bass550/550x is also an excellent choice though very heavy.

The rumble is probably the best value, and if you have to buy internationally, at 5# they won't kill you with shipping.

:))))) okay, that could happen tho.
Anyways. About the country part.. this might be weird for you.. but I'm Hungarian, living in Romania, and getting my equipment from Germany. (Relatives)

There has only been one PF series AFAIK. The revisions are marked on and referring to the main circuit board. If you have the time to dig through the huge PF thread, there is a list of the revisions and modifications made there.

EDIT: Yes, the A, B, and C revisions had the problems. If you aren't able to pop the cover to look, B-string's advice is spot on.
