Cool story, bro.I only got serious about bass about 2 years ago so I had never actually played a Fender bass before. But today I tried out a made in Mexico Fender. Invalid Link Removed Unimpressed! Strings too far away from the fretboard. Neck too thick, but then I'm used to my Ibanez.
For $800 I would expect much better.
I tried out a $1,500 Fender. That was a little better but still the strings were too far from the fretboard.
Maybe this will help:
opinion; a belief or judgment that rests on grounds insufficient to produce complete certainty.
fact; something that actually exists; reality, truth.

The neck is not to thick. It's just that your hands are to small.Neck too thick, but then I'm used to my Ibanez.
Yep, Fender never makes their fretboards tall enough to meet the strings, Ibanez, on the other hand knows how to build a proper height fretboard. If Fender would just use that extra wood that makes the neck too thick to build up the height of the fretboard then they'd be just as impressive as Ibanez.I Unimpressed! Strings too far away from the fretboard. Neck too thick, but then I'm used to my Ibanez.
