Teh Fleaz0rz said:well, this is comin from a 15 year old...
I weighed 215 last summer, and hated looking at myslef, doctor told me that I was morbidly obese, and that I'd have to have surgery if I didn't lose any.
I seriously said to my mom what the hell...
Got on the south beach diet, lost 24 pounds, then school decides to come up, and when you have a whole weat 7 carb bread sandwich with a few pieces of meat, and your friends are getting the most addicting cookies ever, I had to get my hands on some...
so I had a pack a day (2 cookies that were always warm and gooey). Then at the beginning of the year I started with 2 a day...however, I grew from 5'7" to 6'0" so I slimmed downa bit, but I'm still fat.
Now at the end of the school year, I'm back to one pack, and I don't drink 2 minute maids (the bottles) anymore. When school ends (6 more days, 3 being half days) I'm goin hardcore on this diet,a nd I'm losing 30 or more, and I'm not going to cheat on the diet anymore, because I seriously need to lose weight. However, something that really helped at the beginning of the school year was marching band. 2 hour practices on tuesday and thursday, and friday games lugging around a 50 pound tuba and burning many more calories than I usually do...
So yah, this summer, the south beach diet comes back into my life, and I'll be much healthier and hopefully more attractive to the ladies (sadly I'm still and always have been single...)
Maybe I'll post at the end of the summer with my progress.

while a good diet is one thing, i think for a kid, especially one that's growing like a mofo like yourself, you just need to be more active. put away the xbox, and take up karate, or join a club sport. try to walk to your nearby errands rather than using the car. heck, get a bike! but IMHO, following a diet might not be the best idea for your growing self.
just be conscious of what you put into your body and eschew the fastfood and sodas, and you'll be amazed w/ the more "active" lifestyle at how quickly the poundage melts away.
