Unsung heroes?

The guy at Starbucks who has my venti iced white chocolate mocha latte ready to go for me at 5:15am every morning! :D

As for bassists...Martin Mendez of Opeth gets little to no love around here and I'd like to see Troy Sanders and Rex Brown more often but I guess they're not necessarily underdogs.

Aston Barrett - Bob Marley

Family Man? Heck, I always figured he was revered as a god and not unsung at all. By musicians anyway.

Here are my bids:

Dennis Dunaway from the original Alice Cooper band.

Dave "Zander" Alexander from The Stooges. Listen to Zander's playing on the Funhouse album, especially the title track. So great.

Clint Connoly from Mission of Burma.

...and I gotta agree with Rutmanis. I love his work with Cows in particular, and got to see him live with them a couple of times.

Yeh Rex is a beast. He kept up with Dime on some of his solos....he's one hell of an underrated bassist!

Care to elaborate :) I love that solo and have being working on nailing it.

Don't get me wrong!- I love Jethro Tull and Glenn Cornick, and I think Glenn was a big part of the early Tull sound, it's just that in the second bar of the strumming section of the solo, he drags pretty badly. When I first posted, I thought it was worse than it is, so I probably sounded overly critical. But that solo is definitely a classic and I love all of his playing.

Chris

P.S. I know that solo, too!
