While mostly known as a game show host, Bert Convy was also an incredibly talented singer and actor, appearing in productions of Cabaret and Fiddler On The Roof. He also was a member of the pop group The Cheers, who hit the Top 10 in 1955 with the song Black Denim Trousers.

History seems unclear: was this album recorded in the men’s room at CBS Studios in San Francisco, or the ladies’? Guitarist Leroy Ratcliffe finally set the record straight: the sound in the recording studio so upset Richman that they decamped to a guys’ bathroom, with all the cables running down the halls to the control room. But Richman still wasn’t happy, so off to the other-gendered bathroom they went. After all that reconfiguring, the singer still was dissatisfied, so returned back to the boys’ room.

“The decisive factor,” Radcliffe recounted to a fan site, “was undoubtedly the male urinals that had an impact on ‘that certain sound’.” The Modern Lovers are hardly the only ones to experiment with bathroom acoustics, “Weird” Al Yankovic’s breakout single, “My Bologna,” was recorded entirely in a California Polytechnic campus men’s room.

Prior to being the current drummer for Kiss, Eric Singer also played drums with Alice Cooper and also was a featured performer on Black Sabbath's 1986 album Seventh Star.

And Seventh Star wasn't supposed to be a Black Sabbath album initially. The record company thought it would be a good idea to label it as such, in order for it to sell more units.

Aside from Glenn Hughes on vocals, that album also features Dave Spitz on bass. Now that's an interesting character; he's a high ranking karate instructor and a successful lawyer in Florida. His younger brother Dan Spitz played lead guitar in Anthrax.

Edgar Winter played the saxophone solo, Dan Hartman played keyboards, acoustic guitar, & sang backup, and Pat Thrall played the guitar solo on Tina's version.

Another song Tina Turner covered was "Better Be Good To Me", which was originally recorded in 1981 by the band Spider. Holly Knight was a member of Spider and co-wrote the song, who also co-wrote "The Best". Anton Fig was the drummer for Spider. Tina Turner covered it in 1984 for a big hit. Two members of The Fixx, Jamie West-Oram played guitar and Cy Curnin sang backup on the song and both appeared on the video for the song.
