Felix Pappalardi is remembered for his work with Cream and being the bassist for Mountain. Thats him playing cello on White Room. He was the arranger for Cream on Disraeli Gears.
He started out playing guitarron (mexican acoustic bass) with folk acts.
He went to classical music college but couldnt get a job, so he drfted into the early Greenwich Village scene.
He retired from music due to partial deafness (playing with Mountain)
His wife was also a talented songwriter /luricist and contributed to work with Cream and Mountain. She killed him with a derringer shot to the neck. Lots of stories, but she never was convicted.

I was mistaken. Felix's wife served 2 years for manslaughter.
When she died, she left directions for her cats to be euthanized and cremated so their ashes could be mixed with hers.

ZZ Top's Frank beard and Dusty Hill, spent some time in the late '60s performing as part of a knockoff version of The Zombies.
The company responsible in this particular case was called Delta Promotions actually sent a pair of fake Zombies out on the road — all the better to take advantage of the fact that, when the group's "Time of the Season" soared up the charts in 1969, the band had been broken up for more than a year.
It was unscrupulous and illegal, but in those days, relatively few people who turned out for a show knew what band members looked like — and to get around the rest, companies like Delta employed the standard dodge of claiming their band had one original member in the lineup. The Zombies were far from the only band to fall victim, but their inactive status made them ripe for the picking when "Time of the Season" hit.
One of Delta's fake Zombies was based out of Texas (the other fake Zombies were from Michigan) — which is where Beard and Hill came in. Ralston interviewed their bandmate Mark Ramsey, who joined the duo and guitarist Sebastian "Seab" Meador in the southern Zombies, an experience he now chalks up to the "fascination of experimentation" of the era.
"I’d only been playing for a few years and the other guys were pro-level at that point," said Ramsey. "I didn’t look at it as anything more than a chance to have some fun, hang out with some cool guys, learn some songs, go somewhere outside of this Hillbillyville and earn a little money."
Perhaps unsurprisingly, neither Beard nor Hill consented to be interviewed for the piece, but it remains a fascinating read that touches on a number of stranger-than-fiction stories — and one that might best be summed up by Hill, who responded to e-mail fact-checking requests via a publicist: "It was the ’60s, man."

Barnes & Barnes of the song "Fish Heads" fame (and other songs) are fictional twin brothers Art Barnes (Bill Mumy) and Artie Barnes (Robert Haimer). Bill Mumy is a long time actor appearing in hundreds of TV episodes as well as movies, commercials, and cartoons including his role as Will Robinson in the 1960s TV show "Lost In Space".

Lenny Kravitz is the son of former NBC television news producer Sy Kravitz and actress Roxie Roker, who appeared in a number of movies and TV shows including the role of Helen Willis on The Jeffersons. Lenny was named after his uncle Private First Class Leonard M. Before forming 'The Police', Sting, Andy Summers, and Stewart Copeland were in a band called 'Strontium 90' with 'Gong' bass player Mike Howlett.
I have that CD. It has early versions of "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic" (quite different - almost a ballad) and "Visions Of The Night".
Yeah I have it too, it's a cool album!
And yes, I like the version of 'Every Little Thing...', pretty minimalist with vocals, acoustic guitar and upright.
Sting's quite funky on 'Electron Romance', his bass part has a really nice groove to it.
Andy Summers was in Eric Burdon and The Animals for one double album called Love Is (1968). Stewart Copeland was in the British band Curved Air for 2 albums Midnight Wire (1975) and Airborne (1976).
Check out the intro to the Curved Air song Desiree. It's the same as The Traveling Wilbury's "Handle With Care". Hey, nobody sued The Wilburys for plagiarism.
