Update to the G2220 saga

That's interesting because I tried to warn them about this massive QC oversight a year ago and got nothing but runaround. Maybe I should call them up again...

And for those who thought that they were not aware.
Looking at this email it was almost exactly a year ago that I first made them aware, not 2 years as I had been saying.

It wouldn't be until the following December that I would get the refund check...

It only FELT like two years.

I'd write back asking if the humbucking pickups are available on their website for $100 or less.

I am glad to finally see some movement on this. Fender 100% dropped the ball here.

First up, I have no grudge against, Fender,, or Gretch, this was just an issue of a company (could be any company) not being to fussed if a product they were selling wasn't as described.

Good on Asher Platts and Low End Lobster for making a noise about this.

Instead of the hundred bucks, (Retail, that would be...) perhaps they should be offering humbucking pickups to those who thought they were buying a bass with humbucking pickups?

Given that they had been informed about this situation at least a year ago, it's seems a bit rich to be suggesting (blaming?) whoever makes these basses for them for the issue. Like it was all new news to them. Basically it looks like they didn't see much of a problem and not worth fixing, until the noise about it became too embarrassing.

100% this. They only responded because it started getting public with now several Youtube videos and activity on the forums. They never would have done this otherwise. They'll probably just leave it at single-coils now.
