You have to let them mature, but depending on the year, they can pair nicely with red meats….or metal.

Don't need to, it was a rhetorical question as I've been periodically reading the thread.
Seems like the main issues that remain over at the other site, at least as of right now, are about the way the accusations were presented in the video and the basis of those accusations at the time it was done. Lobster went out on a limb to get the scoop. If it turned out to be wrong, easy enough to delete the video and do a little damage control clean-up. If correct, then what is now his highest ranking video on the channel, lives on in legend. The gamble paid off this time.
Interesting. I just loaded mine in the SUV to use as a backup for this weekend's gigs. SC, HB or whatever, I couldn't be happier with it. It's my #1 for my British Invasion band and I play it as much as my P or J.
not like it was a big gamble though. he gathered evidence,investigated, with his own experience and other findings.. and outside of some magic hocus pocus was 99% sure of what he accused. idk what limb he went out on.. his pinky toe?
This is absolutely correct. What possible gain is there for them? It would most likely have made zero difference in the number of $300 basses they would have sold. To me, it's like when someone asks if their Fender Mexican bass is a fake...if you are going to fake/lie about something, make it worth you while, no one is printing counterfeit $1 bills.

It is fraud. At least to me, it is.
As we saw here, there was at least one other user with this problem, 2 years ago.
This user was ignored by the brand and even after they took his bass back and destroyed it, they still took a year to refund him.
This is inexcusable business practice.
They knew. And kept lying. FRAUD.
i agree that it most likely wasn't a lie at the start . the issue is that it's been like that for years and people have told them about it. so they have known about it, and still not changed the description. at that point it becomes lying.
Well, I'm glad there's at least some kind of resolution to this and some kind of official response that confirms, yes these are single coils. I'm one of those who loves the bass as is, and I won't be writing to get the compensatory merch, though I do feel a little smudged about it all. I bought the bass based on its sound, not its specs, but as an owner of a six string SG with mini-humbuckers, which are amazing, the mini-hum allure played at least a small part in my decision to buy a G2220.
If nothing else, this brouhaha has all been worth it because it coined the term "Huckbummers," which is how I'll always refer to these pickups from now on! Perfect.

there's still one issue i think : they're both bridge pickups. single coils are fine and good, and the description now matches. but they'll still be noisier than usual since they're both bridge, right? this seems like something that should still be fixed.
