Updated Amazon Deals

On another hot-deals thread with which I’m familiar, all actual deals are posted in red so it’s easier for those wanting to skip the banter to scan through it.

Just a thought. :)

YOU GOT IT MARKO !!

Heres the ONLY deal thats close to being a deal... Like I said if you're interested put in your cart too & wait for it to get down to the price you want. It goes down 1% every day or so around 6pm like a lot of deals. Theres no rhyme or reason to the pricing but 65% to 70% has been the max on daily price drops like this one OR until it gets to 2 in stock

Lakland Skyline AJ 5 string quilt red

$1010 as of today

I have read that amazon has been known to be a dumping ground for less than 1st run instruments. I am not sure this is true but I am not sure I would pull the trigger on an expensive bass. Amps no problem (they don't have necks and action..lol)

You read wrong my friend... A million people may chime in here to refute that but I"m hoping we just let that comment slide & not clutter up this thread with a flame war

My Bongo was perfect anyone who has gotten basses off of this thread has never said anything of the sorts. Don't think twice man really.

I just got a Lakland 55-60 a month ago and I couldn't be happier with it! Plays and sounds great!

That hasn't been my experience at all. I purchased many, many items through Amazon. Amps, basses, acoustic, gig bags, strings, pedals, so on and so on. I even purchased my Samsung 59" Plasma from Amazon among many other electronics. No issues. However, I always suggest getting a price quote through Music123. Not only would you save a few more bucks, you get around the idea that you could be buying a dud.

It has absolutely, categorically, positively been true at least up until the fairly recent past to my personal knowledge. Not always so, but definitely sometimes. One bass manufacturer's rep has told persons here never to buy their basses off Amazon as only their rejects are sold there.

Rejects are also sold by the other major online sellers under misrepresented "used" or "scratch & dent" stock when in fact they are new QC fails.

100% sure of this. Take it to the bank.

What a bunch of alarmist nonsense. I'm sure Amazon sells no more or less "problem" instruments than ANY large retailer. Personally, I've had nothing but good luck. Same for a number of my students and friends who buy from them.

Plus, when you consider their very liberal and fair return policy, it's simply not in their best business interest to send out crap products, then end up losing $$$ on returns.

Some people just want to see a conspiracy behind everything.

You're right that it is not in their best business interest, that's why they are a horrible business. It's probably just their "outlet" sections and even then they're still probably turning a massive profit even though they are in fact lying to the consumer.

And yes they do sell used, returned, and "B" items as new, not only have other companies openly admit this about Amazon but I personally bought something as new from them and it had a return slip from another company from a year previous in the box

But hey, I've bought a bunch of stuff from them and never had a real problem or returned anything. If it's pretty close to new and half the price of new it's good enough for me usually.

Thought this thread was about deals on amazon ?

If you read through the thread in its entirety you'll see that this comment has been addressed many times before. Yes it was the OP's wish to have this be nothing but actual things for sale and prices and he did a good job of keeping it that way for awhile but it inevitably spiraled out of control since not being a Mod he had no authority over what people post in this thread, outside the obvious rules. Since then there was the inevitable:
1)discussing the deals
2)talking about the received items
and
3)debating how the thread should be run, even though that is under no one's real control

Your post ironically falls under #3 and is not about an actual Amazon deal.
