I cannot believe your G string saddle came from Lakland OR the Indo factory like that. Why would they Plek it and then have a saddle like that?!?! Somebody must have played with it.

Agreed. Someone might have done it after it left Lakland. But... it is hard to understand why one would only mess up with that one saddle and only that screw.
Is it possible that this one screw moved by itself during transit? I know nothing about physics, but maybe that screw is loose and with trepidation just kept turning in small increments?

Not with the pressure of the string locking it in place. But, anyway, I've dragged things far enough off-topic as it is. The only thing I'll add is: every single time I've had something sub-standard or whatever from Amazon they have made it right. So no long-term issues here.

Amazon has the Aguilar DB 112 NT 8 Ohm in Classic Black on sale again:

http://www.amazon.com/Aguilar-DB-112-NT-Ohm/dp/B001BA9Y9G/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pdT1_S_nC?ie=UTF8

Currently $441.86 shipped, two left in stock. I picked up one of these a few months ago for around the same price and have been loving it ever since...perhaps I'll snag another!

Just a heads up that this is down to $418.15 now. I've noticed several of the Aggie cabs are coming down in price (I've got many of the models in my Wishlist). Nothing is super low yet besides the 112 NT, but perhaps it's the start of a trend...:hiding:

It's entirely possible but unlikely. I've seen firsthand on my own instruments a saddle lower itself from playing the instrument but that kind of direct vibration from the string is hard to imagine being reproduced in transit. Also it only happens on instruments with very loose saddles, so the first question would be: Is that screw very loose? It could have left the factory not up to spec, made slightly smaller or what have you. christ, I have to chime in on everything

edit: and the downward pressure actually assists this process

Update: replacement arrived, with holes in the inner box (uh-oh!) ... but seems to be in good condition other than one knob being a little loose. This time it looked like it wasn't tampered with - there was the mythical crappy cable, neat fiber tape instead of clear tape over ripped fiber tape, and the dessicant packets were still there. Amazon made it right.

If the pressure eases off then returns, like with a vibrating string, then yes, it gives a kind of ratchet effect. If it's a fairly constant pressure then it will act to lock the thread in place.

So glad to hear that. Hope you enjoy it!

I have the Streamliner and the SM9.2. Both are amazing heads, but the Streamliner just has that lush, warm vintage tone that sounds good with active and passive basses and has gotten more use since I got it. $699 is a steal.

It's surprising too see how many commented negatively about the crappy cable that comes with the Lakland. Every new bass I've ever purchased since 1984 has come with the same cable. Spector, Fender, Ibanez, Lakland, Warwick; all same cable. I've not known a bass to be packaged with anything other than that.
However, if the bass lacks fingerprints, looks clean, shows no issues when plugged in and the major complaint is packaging, then the response should be to notify Amazon. I'm sure package may have been the ideal reason this bass was sold at a steal of a price. A lot of basses don't come with a case and Amazon didn't claim it did. So that shouldn't be seen as a negative. If the case candy is really an issue, a call to Lakland can work wonders. They likely would send whatever you feel your missing in a heartbeat because first they want customers happy and secondly it's cheap stuff anyway.
I really hope everyone that got one of these screaming deals is able to look past the minor and feel really good about the fantastic Lakland they just added to their stable!
