UPS Failure

Except I know where the bass is. According to the UPS tracking information, it was received into the UPS facility in Detroit. Detroit forgot to put it on a truck for delivery. When I called UPS customer service on Friday morning to tell them that the bass was not out for delivery, UPS assured me that the bass absolutely would be delivered to me that day. I called three times and received the same response each time. They were not willing to call Detroit to ask why the bass was not out for delivery. I knew it would not be delivered. Now they say there must be an investigation that will take one to eight business days. As a retired officer of a multi-national manufacturing company, I can say that I've never seen such incompetence.

I don't think it's time to freak out yet. Yeah, I'd be anxious too, but these guys move a ton of packages every day. I am surprised that a delivery which is not yet more than one business day late constitutes the biggest show of incompetence you've seen. I have not even been the head of anything and I see worse displays of incompetence almost weekly.

OP how do you know they lost it? Was it marked as delivered but not there? Sometimes stuff gets lost in transit for awhile or sent to the wrong location. Some people steal mail off porches too sadly, which is why signatures can be smart.

I have had mostly good luck with USPS but considering the insane amount of mail they deal with it's not surprising how many stupid mistakes they make. Some of the mistakes themselves on the other hand are ridiculous though.
It was scheduled to be delivered on Friday but UPS tracking did not show out for delivery on Friday. When I called to ask why, UPS customer service said it would be delivered on Friday. I called three times and received the same answer each time. When I called after 7:00 pm to report no delivery (signature is required), UPS customer service told me package is assumed lost.

The incompetence for me is that they refused to question why UPS tracking did not show out for delivery even though delivery was scheduled. That indicates an issue. Any company I worked for, there would have been a reprimand given to a CSR who did not immediately investigate. Maybe indifference rather than incompetence.

here's hoping things work out! Let us know
Bass finally arrived and it's a beauty. I can't believe how light this bass is. I have not played a 5 string in years but so far, I think the adjustment will be smooth.
