They couldn't x-ray it because it ws opaque and rejected the item. Try again is your only option. Maybe just call it a guitar bridge - the fewer words in the description, the better. I'd also tape a picture of the item on the out side of the package. Their job is to err on the side of caution and prevent planes from blowing up in the sky or sending canisters of fentanyl through the mail.

I'm guessing you are probably right.

Not unless that is some kind of EM shielded metallic lined wrapper. If the X-rays go through the cardboard, they will also penetrate the paper wrapper. Unless they don't like that the xray wont penetrate the bridge itself. Maybe they expected to see wires and circuits like you would in a cell phone and just get a solid metal block when they xray it. maybe they think there are explosives hidden inside the bridge, lol.

This is what the contents looked like... Bubblewrap, a plastic bag and a foil label.

The carrier is probably confusing "mailpiece" with tailpiece. Or they could be confusing "mailpiece" with male piece, in which case they are trying to do you a favor because nobody wants their male piece lost in the mail.

Just write "For the ladies. Batteries not included" on the package, and resend.

what?

we have black finishes here too, various types. I can't imagine there's any that cannot be sold... do you have any more info? Because it sounds like somebody somewhere misunderstood something.

It has to do with the finish on the hardware. There isn't a blanket ban on black hardware, just on certain finishing options. I would guess it has to do with the powder coating but, again, it is all over my paygrade.
