Utility Gig Bag - What're You Using?

I don't leave home without my gig bag. A re purposed weekend travel bag. Stuffed with my music stand, bass stand, cables, power cords, extra strings, small tools for on the spot setup adjustments and usually 2 full loose leaf binders of jazz charts. Oh yes, my pit light is in there, Tylenol, sunscreen, bug repellent, clothes pins (serve as music clips when outdoors), a photo of my deceased drummer friend, tip jar etc. etc. BTW its heavy!

Looking for ideas on which utility gig bag to get, .

I'm using a little zippered bag that came with jumper cables and flares for pedals and cables and power cords. Then a large Dewalt drill bag they were throwing away at work (new) for extra cables, tools, power conditioner, emergency stuff. I might build a small pedal board from a harbor freight aluminum case, make it where the lid comes off and has a pouch for cables and cords built in. I'm a big fan of carrying less stuff

I have a very large pocket on my gig bag - that fits most of my stuff - - I also have a really cheap little laptop box I used for my Puma when I don't want it crammed in with my cables.

I use one of these mesh type bags from Ikea. I like that I can see inside it without opening the bag so I can find stuff quickly. It holds a lot and takes plenty of abuse!

The pedalboard bag that came with my PT Jr. has always served me well. That and gig bag pockets usually do all that I need.

Looking for ideas on which utility gig bag to get, or one that can be re-purposed that's otherwise meant for another use. (Not looking for a bass bag that has many/ large extra pockets.)

By a utility gig bag, I mean one that would be used to carry, cables, tuner, extra strings and string changing tools, a micro pedal board (mine just has space for 2 pedals), an iPad to display charts, etc.

I keep meaning to go to Harbor Freight where, I am told by some construction guys, one can get some sweet, sturdy, affordable bags for miscellaneous stuff.

I was using an old Adidas messenger bag that I had laying around for my PF800 and all the cables I needed. I don't use any effects though, so my cable count was pretty low.

I use a soft leather laptop briefcase type bag for iPads, and a few small emergency type items. If I am toting my whole rig around, I have a World Tour small mixer bag that I put my Mesa D800, strap, cords, wireless, power strip, drop cord, batteries, tuner, a few small tools, iPad, etc in.

The briefcase I got at Goodwill, the World Tour from zZounds.

I bring a sports bag I got at WalMart for like $25.

I use a medium sized soft suitcase with wheels and telescoping handle. Works great!

A small hard shell suitcase. Approx 10" x 10" and 3" deep. Its lasted 20+ years so far.
