Olympia 42 Inch Sports Duffel

It's just a giant duffel. No extra pockets. I can put everything except bass and cab in it. Stands, board, amp, cables, everything. It is a little heavy fully loaded but it's nice to have just one bag. I actually have the amp and board in a separate smaller duffel inside so nothing bumps into them.

Home Depot "Husky" series tool bags, the big one, for the "big gig" bag. A smaller one I got at Harbor Freight for practice. Those "Husky" bags are great. Sturdy and overbuilt if anything.

Maybe I should have tried the find the bigger one when I out grew the small one......and you're not kidding about being overbuilt. The one I used, still looks new.

mine is a re-purposed Carry on bag handle and wheels fits everything pedal board, all of my cables, set list, tools batteries and it rolls easy enough weights very little when empty. It works great

I use an old Samsonite suitcase. Two sided, one fer bass, one fer sound systems and power. Those who don't know, Samsonite used to be a huge luggage manufacturer who claimed to use gorillas to test their cases. Plenty of room for any accessory, including yer head, or clothes. Plus, they're a dollar or two at any pawn shop or Good Will. And my first one lasted 25 years.

I think Peavey used the same gorilla's to test there older amps. Those thinks will take a beating

Go to Amazon, type "shooters range bags" in the search bar. You'll have a few hundred varieties to pick from, most with adjustable Velcro dividers and tons of pockets, nooks and crannies for sticking stuff. And they're better made than just about any "musicians" bags I've seen.
I have one similar to this.

It has room for my pedal board (holding a Zoom B3, a Line 6 G70 and room for a mini tuner). about 10 assorted cords, a variety of tools, a variety of adaptors, a towel, a flask, and spot for a water bottle, extra strings, wireless transmitter, plenty of extra batteries, pens, sharpies, pencils, nail clippers, gum, battery tester, polish, flashlight and is big enough to slide 2 Ultimate guitar stands through the handles. It also has a padded shoulder strap. It's about 19"x12"x8".
I believe I paid less than $40 for it, although I can't remember exactly how much.

Looking for ideas on which utility gig bag to get, or one that can be re-purposed that's otherwise meant for another use. (Not looking for a bass bag that has many/ large extra pockets.)

By a utility gig bag, I mean one that would be used to carry, cables, tuner, extra strings and string changing tools, a micro pedal board (mine just has space for 2 pedals), an iPad to display charts, etc.

I'm sure I'm not the only one, but I use a standard heavy duty olive green messenger bag that I bought from an army surplus shop about 12 years ago. Something like $18 and virtually indestructible.

I have to carry guitar stands, mic stands, a lot of cables and other goodies. I find it very convenient. But, it is a good idea to carry a flashlight in one of the end pockets. It's dark in there during load in/out.

I don't use a pedal board and my two Mono M80 bags have lotsa pockets. For extra stuff -- mostly my mikes and wireless transmitter, batteries, and patch cables -- I use a Mono Tick attached to the front of one of the bags.

I use the biggest backpack I can find. With as much padding as I can find.

I have a guitar tick attached to my M-80 bag. It's probably no big enough for pedals or a micro head, but it'll hold a mic, tuner, cables, IEM's, fast fret, screwdrivers, string winder hex keys,Di.........

Subbed. I have been using bass gig bag pockets and my little Ashdown CTM15's gig bag but was planning to get a pedal bag (minus the board) and use that for cables, DI, micro amp and a pedal or two.
