VEEERRRRRRRYYYYYYYYY SLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW!

Did everyone turn into aholes overnight. There are a dozen posts bitching. Jesus, it’s been like one day. It’s a big update. The site hasn’t been updated for a while. Maybe some of you should log off and go have a nice 4th holiday. Come back Monday. Sheesh.

Maybe this post will get me the first warning on the updated site.

If you complain you must have data:, how slow Th whole page loaded under 2 seconds and I am in flyover state of New Mexico - in the Pecos VPN'ed to Denver with not a very fast internet. How about clearing your cache.?

AMEN! Jeesh. I'm a fan - this site has needed an upgrade for a while, and the mods posted upfront that the site would be slow while conversion and indexing was completed. It was slow for me earlier and is blazing fast now.

This site was so slow as to be unusable day 1 through this morning (PST). Then, it started to work wayyyy better. I figured it would just be a matter of time

Folks, I think this is going to be all right! Thanks Talkbass for all of your hard work getting us into the future. Change is hard, but I appreciate you!

When it first came back online it was slow. Earlier today it was working at almost previous formats speeds. It seems to have slightly slowed back down a little this afternoon, but if this mornings speed is anything to go buy, it's gonna be ok. Just give them time to optimise and work out any bugs.

This may be because of the ongoing indexing. Slowness I'm seeing varies--some pages are loading like normal for me, others are 10's of seconds.
That was my first thought as well. I don't know how large the old dataset was, but if it dates back to the beginning of Talkbass, it's probably going to be large.

If my biggest problem is that my avatar is stretched and distorted, I'll live. Probably time for a new bass pic anyway. Where, or where can I find one? It's not like I took hundreds of pictures of every bass I've ever owned. Oh, wait... ;)
