The market is actually what people want. If class D amp is now replacing class AB everywhere it's for a reason. That's what the market, so the people, wants.We already know what the market says, and its not always what everyone wants.

If it works, I'll try them in the 6x KT120 valve amp I built. It has several voltage detays from approx. 600 to 820V anode voltage. I'm curious which power I can reach at 600-700V.
The KT120 are correct biased without a signal at 820V, at full power 500W 750V. But that will be too much for the Verellen.

I'm not sure any bass player ever really wanted a class D amp? 20th century bass players probably never gave it a second thought. They would've liked a lighter weight amp, and the first lightweight heads, such as the Markbass Little Mark 2 were class AB with switch mode power supplies. Class D was the next logical step in efficiency and weight reduction. There has been an evolution of class D bringing it to the performance levels bass players enjoy today. Class A, AB, G, D is pretty much irrelevant if it sounds good and suits your needs.The market is actually what people want. If class D amp is now replacing class AB everywhere it's for a reason. The vast majority of the market has clearly and unambiguously accepted switchmode + class D, those who were offering the legacy lead sled models saw their sales slip to almost zero. I've ridden both the solid state lead sled era through the SMPS/class D era with my designs, and when players vote with their wallets and class D wins, it is what it is. Either evolve or get out of the way.
