This is my Vigier Excess Indus.
I've placed some glow in the dark stickers over the fret dots, I might remove them as they don't glow like they use to.

Numbers:

I'm going to make Patrice Vigier #1, just for bringing us these awesome basses (and guitars).

I still have my Arpege I that I bought new in '87 (it was made in '86, and have a very low, two-digit serial #).

Plays just as great today, amazing basses. I'll put up a pic some day.

Cool. Yes I was amazed when I first tried one. I wasn't sure at first, as I hadn't heard of them at the time.

Put a set of TI flats on it today - first time it has seen anything but rounds. No fret wear what so ever. Are they steel frets...?

Got a couple of pics. A few dings and marks, but at least I made them all myself.

Yeah, that neck is all graphite, different from the current graphite re-inforced wooden necks. I like the snake skin pattern.

I've been wondering why Vigier got away from the all graphite neck approach. Anyone know why? I remember back in the early 90's,I wanted a Vigier Slapper,or the Beelzebub Model so bad. Awesome stuff.

I don't know why they changed that recipe.

That neck is extremely stiff. There's no truss rod in it, but I've used anyhting from Roto funkmasters to heavier sets with an E up to 110 on it. Never was a problem.

To my ear the neck makes the bass very lively sounding, with LOTS going on in the upper mids.
