Vigier Club

I got one of their earliest Passion 4 custom prototypes
Pretty-much identical to the passion 3 with some tweaks in the preamp.

Necktrough 10-90 maple, Benedeti singles, Vigier pre 18V pre...

This one was used by Alphonso Johnson (!)

Here is some loopy loops of me getting use to it:

Now I'm saving for a Imetal fretless.:D

Sweet, nice vid, noticed it was flipped around.

Welcome #6. :D

Is this all there is here on talkbass ?
The brand certainly deserves more than that.

Anyway, I tried a couple of them this week and I will be ordering one soon (a 6 string amethyst passion).
The woodwork is right up there with the best basses I've tried (mtd, dingwall, etc).

it's like CBGB's on a Wed night

but I do have the most amazing French Alder bass right here

That's sitting in a incase , tell me I don't love her

Most TB members live in the US and I've always had the feeling Patrice isn't too bothered about cracking the US market, or cracking any market for that matter. He's a very chilled fella :D

As you'd expect over in Europe it's a different story, all the forums here have healthy Vigier numbers.

An Arpege went on my bucket list back in the early 80's. Of course it needed a Passion to keep it company

Unfortunately, they don’t make 6 string basses anymore, there are a few people see ones that pop up sometimes.

My fiver is adjustable but around 18mm

19mm on the 4 stringers

My 5 string is very tight and none adjustable, just under 16mm.

My Passion has the Kahler bridge, set to 17mm.

Hmm ok, I'll have to look out for a used one then :(
I fear you face a difficult task.

The number of 6 strings were ever built is less than 70. Further complicated is the fact that less than 5000 basses were sold outside of Europe in the first 37 years of Vigier trading.

As to be expected, the easiest place to find Vigiers is France. Check this link regularly.

Basses électriques Vigier d’occasion - Petites annonces - Zikinf

It will help greatly if you or someone you know can speak French when contacting sellers, a relative living in France would be even better.

I wish you the best of luck , it will be worthwhile when you find one
