Peavey basses are great bang for your buck.
The Peavey T-40 is a great mimic too..it can sound like any other bass with its immense selection of tone settings. Ive never heard another bass sound so close to a Rickenbacker 4001-4003 as a T-40 for example or a Precision or a Music Man etc etc etc. I love mine but yes they can be heavy and reputed for that very thing as well. One of the heaviest basses made...but that tone.
My 1979 Peavey T-40 isnt the heaviest ive seen reported here on TB...10.8 lbs

Another great bass is the Peavey Dyna Bass. Mine is a 1991 second model and is a great bass for an inexpensive 5'ver and still classed as a vintage at around 30 years old..give or take a couple years loll
