Vintage Modified Precision?

I've graduated today, and my parents are giving me 500 to spend freely, and I my first thought was to get a new bass. So I went to Long and McQuade (a Canadian music store) and tried out the Squier Vintage Modified bass and loved it! I also tried out some Classic Vibes that sounded better, but the VM felt a whole lot better in my hands, and confort comes first when I buy an instrument.
Can I get your guy's impressions on the VM?
I'm also a colour snob and I love the white body with black pickguards!

Plus, I love looking at basses, so any pictures would be swell as well. :)

Thank you.

Long and mcquade is pretty rad, i would try to see if you like the Matt Freeman Precision. From what i can tell its about the same, white and black, but with a really glossy maple neck and his own special pickup designed to sound like him.

If you like Rancid, or Operation Ivy, or are into Punk rock play one of those!
(personally i have owned the VM precision, it was my first bass, and the neck isn't anything special really, its pretty standard...)

I picked up a VM at GC on Memorial day
and could not put it down.

I installed ROTO 77LD flats and just love
it,

Tabdog

I have the same version as Tabdog, and I'm with him, it's a great bass. I know next to nothing about the white one, but I assume that because it's not all that different than mine, other than the neck, body wood, and finish, I would be willing to bet it's a good one, too, especially considering all the very positive testimonials I've read from owners, both pro and amateur alike.
