I drink Vodka almost exclusively when indulging. Here in Canada, the tax on liquors is ridiculous and so I stay away from the Ciroc, Belvedere and Grey Goose spirits which all have a syrupy taste to me and are priced like fine Whiskeys.
I'm a fan of the traditional Vodkas. Stoli, Smirnoff, etc. We have a couple of great Canadian brands that I prefer. One is Iceberg which is made from the water of Icebergs (the actual berg used is numbered on the bottle) and Alberta Pure from which the water comes from Rocky Mountain glaciers. Both are award winning and pure as 10,000 yr old water can be.![]()
You're not kidding about the Canadian liquor tax. When I briefly lived in Quebec, I don't think I bought any due to the insane prices. I stuck to Quebec-produced beer since even beer from other provinces was more expensive.
