That looks great, very tempted to do something like that to mine. I've already got the stealth power to match. Maybe a VT and a British in one rack with a footswitch to change between them.

I'm 99% sure that Mike can put a 500w amp right inside this rack with the VT bass circuitry. Total package... 1 rack space. :bassist:

Maybe even install a built in tuner. The ultimate MOD!!!!

The more I think about this, the more appealing it is. I could have one rack that sits on top of my 1x12 cabinet that provides:
1. Preamp
2. 500 watts of power
3. Tuner
4. DI w/all the fixins

Talk about traveling light. Plug and Play baby!!! So easy... I don't think I've ever seen anything like that on the market. I bet it would be less money than all those separate components and connectors put together.

MIKE, I think I want this!!! We need to talk.

I pretty much have all this with my EA iAmp Micro 550, VT Bass pedal and Sonic Research strobe tuner w/o the problem that if one thing goes down everything goes down...

I'm not to worried about the components failing. If for some strange reason the tuner failed... I don't think it would take the pre/power amp with it. I'm going to knock on wood right now, but I have never... never had a piece of gear or cable fail on me. Maybe it's just because I take really good care of my equipment. I suppose it could happen, but worst case scenario, I'd run direct.

Man... I've got some GAS for this. I dig the thought of an EA iAmp, but it's WAY out of my price range. This might be a very affordable all-in-one solution for me. I'm stoked.

Yes input and power can be put on opposite sides. How you want it is how you get it. The photo from Washishimi was done to his spec and has in/out on front and in/out on back; phantom/ground lift; pre/post; XLR Balanced out.

250 watt bridged adds about 1 lbs to the rack.
500 watt bridged adds about 1.25 lbs to the rack.

I would not recommend putting the amp in your bass, but it can go in the VT-Rack (Modded Character Series) or other.

The VT or Character Series could be put in an instrument.

Word is the new additions to the character series will have a switchable speaker simulation. Does anyone know the circuit well enough to be able to perform this mod? I could do it myself if I knew where to solder the switch!
