Wake :: a live coffee house gig

James! That band is rockin'! Being a big garbage music person that I am, I found this music very likeable! Good change from what I'm used to listening to (80s metal, 90s nu metal etc).
As I told ya on the IMs, to me, I think you sound great enough without the drummer, though they are nice to have around...but metronomes work just as well...;)
Nah, but really, I dig the music alot. Keep it coming too! I know you have about a million more MP3s you're not sharing with it ;) break them out, everyone here would love them! *cough* wake-11-last_song.mp3 *cough*

Thanks Ray! I did link the new tune in this thread Link Removed

I just haven't added it to the site (too many other edits to do first).
Whooops, my bad! didn't notice that heh.
But you should post some of those other ones, I'm diggin' them! I work at WREU now, the college station, I think, as long as you don't care obviously, I'll put some on?

Here's my take.

First, I love the name... since it seems to be stolen from the band I was in for the last 2 1/2 years... (just kidding... but very similar to "mercys wake"..)

I really dig the lyrical content. The tunes are good, the bass sounds awesome. I got bored easily... but I do that with just about anything. So don't take it as a strike against ya'll. I would actually listen to your tunes on purpose... so I must liek them.

Thanks Henry!

We had a drummer actually show up for an audition tonight

I brought my computer and plugged an SM58 into the line in. I recorded 3 tunes that the drummer had worked on this week.

I'm hoping he sticks around! :bassist:

Two words: Radio hit.

This song has just become 10X more listenable (not that it was unlistenable before). It's amazing what adding drums does.

I can almost hear it on K-ROCK right now.... hmmmm....

Sean

P.S. Keep that drummer!!!

Thanks, I'm digging the tone I've been getting with my latest setup.

it's the fretless 6 (I almost never touch the other) wearing SIT PowerFlats  it's got one big dual coil in the P sweet spot. I run the onboard about flat with the mid and bass just a hair over the center notch. My Yamaha Pre has treble=7, mid=6, bass=4.5 and the parametric just barely boosted (level=1.5 and 2/3 to the narrower picture on "Q" knob) @ 100hz

The Schroeder is a 1210 with the tweeter @ 1/2

here is track 2 of the audition Link Removed
it's a bit train wrecked
