Looking forward to playing my first Wal with an ebony board.
Lovely MkII! Ebony fretboards are phantastic. I like them on anything. To my ears they sounds snappier than rosewood but without the maple "clank". At least IMHO.

A pic of the collection Steve once had. Yup, rarely did Pete make one with a maple board. I asked Paul twice now, and the answer is still no.

Hmm, recognize a few TB members now own some of those.
Looks killer, TMB. that's the first time I've seen a solid facing on a headstock. Very cool.
Jeez that's a nice Wal, love that wood back plate, don't see that too often. Congrats man, that's a pretty special MkII.
stoked
tnx....bass has landed!!!. Picking it up tomorrow around noon

Was it originally a fretless bass? I don't think I've seen a fretted version with no fret markers. Either way, woah! And man did you luck out on finding a great seller, and not having to pay duty is such a relief.

I wasn't going to post it as I haven't seen it in person yet, and TMB's kind of blows it out of the water but you guys deserve a little more bass pr0n today.

Birdseye. Thanks.
Oct. 7. Excited would be an understatement. This will more than likely be the first Wal I see, play/feel or hear in person. Was I crazy to order one? lol
Thanks man. And I amend my previous statement as I have seen Tool live a few times so I guess I've seen and heard one in person.
There is about SIX things orig to this Wal that you dont see very often
-Fixed solid pole pieces (orig)
Very interesting, didn't know such a thing was available. Do you know why they were ordered like that? I like the adjustable poles, personally.
Well finally got this deal done...money sent off today!. Will take some better pics when she arrives! She is a rare beauty.
