I dont own a Paul Wal...but the used ones i do have and the one i sold i paid on avg about $4,200

I paid (or paying) a hair higher than that for the MKII that i should have in my hands by the end of next week. Fingers crossed!

Well, thanks for the info, seems it will be better if I wait and search a second hand wa,l and meanwhile gather some money or maybe I can sell my ricken and my pbass....so, If somebody knows or is selling one, please let me know!!!

silly question, maybe someone here know the answer, the thin line(bright/clear) between the Mahogany core, and the top laminate what material is made of? seems maple, but not sure

It is maple on basses with dark facings (walnut; wenge, shedua....), while it's made of a darker wood on basses with light facings (maple, sycamore....), but I actually don't know what wood it is.

Maple board on a Wal would be strange, it would look odd and out of character and in my uneducated opinion sound too bright and not Wal like. To each their own, but I don't think it's something that Paul would do?

Not only have I seen a few, but I've heard them in action...and they looked AND sounded quite nice. Steve Chesney had a Olive Ash MKII fiver and a Zebrawood MKIII 4 with maple boards and both sounded GREAT!

Well finally got this deal done...money sent off today!. Will take some better pics when she arrives! She is a rare beauty.
Looking forward to playing my first Wal with an ebony board.

A pic of the collection Steve once had. Yup, rarely did Pete make one with a maple board. I asked Paul twice now, and the answer is still no.
