Just curious, what is the audible attributes of Hornbeam Maple in the neck?
I could be thinking Hornbeam/Maple instead of Hornbeam Maple. I think mine is Hornbeam, Walnut stringers, and Maple. It was Jim Kernodle's '92, which is posted on the first page of this Part 4 thread.My (admittedly limited) understanding is that hornbeam is hard and stays straight. It was/is used for masts in sailing ships.
I have an old ProIIe that NEVER goes out of tune unless a tuner gets bumped. That includes massive temperature changes like being in a sub-freezing trailer overnight and humidity changes.
And it's just hornbeam, not a variant of maple.
