Wal Bass Club.

The inserts are for the smaller bodies of the MkI and MkIII, they'd flop around inside the case.
I swear I'd seen a Hiscox case with a Mk. II in it that had the little side pads. My bass does slide around in the case a TINY bit when it is closed. Not a big deal, it doesn't really bother me but if I could get one with side paddy things I would.

Yes!...yes you have ;)

I didn't even realize the Wal branded Hiscox's cases came with those side bolsters. When I needed a case, I'd contacted Hiscox to find out exactly which model it was, then just ordered one from a local shop, fits my MkI well and I don't notice it moving around, but now I'm going to have to scrutinize!

I'm going with Walnut facings, straplocks, and an Xtender on the E string. Almost got a Mk2 but I had a change of heart. I realized that if I got a Mk2 I would not have been happy because the Mk1 is what I really wanted.

I probably should've asked for an options list. I would've liked to have had me some strap locks! I suppose I'll have to screw them in myself.

Hey fellow wal-nuts. Here's yet another YouTube Wal demo. my first attempt so excuse the production quality.

NICE! Love the new Wal! And I see you still have the Mesa. Love those heads! Speaking of, I just bought a Daring Laser Cannon HD. We'll see how that thing sounds with a Wal...

btw, Jim, you should add to your signature line, "Maybe you're in a Reggae band. I'm not." :roflmao:

So after a week with my MKI I finally got up the nerve to start adjusting. For today all I did was lower the strings at the saddles. Boy am I glad I did. The bass is now squarely in my wheelhouse and feels infinitely more comfortable. It also has that little shimmer and grind that I love so much, but not an outright buzz. I'm not talking razor thin action.

No truss adjustment needed. A quick visual at the bridge was perfect and I didn't even feel the need to go back and fine tune it. It makes today feel more like NBD than last week. What fun!

Hey everybody. I have been a happy Wal owner for 2 years now and I have loved it. HOWEVER, some recent things have come up in my life that are causing me to face the fact that it's not practical for me to own a bass that sells for nearly $7,000 brand new. It was great for awhile but I have some unexpected expenses to pay for, I need some new gear for a new band I started, car payments, 2nd baby on the way. The whole 9 yards. Sadly, I am facing the fact that it might be time for me to let my baby go. Before making it final and posting a thread amongst everybody I figured I would come here first. Do any of you fellow Wal members have any interest in my Wal? It is a 1984 MKI with a Schedua Top. Just PM if your interested in any way. I can take and send as many pictures as you like and I'm happy to discuss any aspect of the bass. I will be happy to talk info, pictures, prices, shipping, and everything in between. If you have any interest in an "84 Wal MKI then PM me and I wil be happy to answer any questions for you.

Mike

Don't do it
Don't do it
Lol

Btw Jason's new red Geddy with block inlays was $13,000 when all said and done with shipping/taxes/duty (he is on the Wal united FB group)

$7000 would be at the low end of the price range with no options :crying:
