How long ago was that?....I just scanned back into the beginning of March and didnt see it :-(
You'll probably have to scan a couple months back more. It was a shedual Mk2 4 string in Europe, and seemed like the guy wouldnt even ship it across town.
AAAARGH! Due to a loose input jack, it twisted and broke the wire on the ceramic capacitor. It says .01 1kv, yet when I look around on the net, I can't find anything matching that description. What, exactly am I looking for? Also, nobody locally seems to have this, is there something I can use as a suitable replacement?

its a simple kill switch. The preowner said it was due to the battery losing power. He looked kinda puzzled when I asked him about just unplugging the cable... the electronics cavity looks good and tidy, with a new jack and the small toggle, otherwise exactly like any other early wal.
Got it! Heavy, live playing battered but sounds just right and plays nicely.

That's the first time I hear someone saying that the Wal prices are low!
I own two Wals myself but these new prices are way over my head. Luckily I bought them 8 years ago or more (don't remember exactly).
But if people are still buying them for this much money and if there is such a long waiting list I can't blame Paul for asking it.
The really old ones seem to (90's and older).
I've had a couple of 2000's colored finish ones that weren't as thick and same with my new ones, probably because the quality and durability of poly being better.
That Mk1 has a very tasty midrange grind/grit. Played with a pcik it sounds very much like Tool with a meaty amp.
It is considerably middier in sound compared to the '88 irish yew mk1 that I had a few years ago. I love it.
