Is there a way to know if Pete built my bass? Does he have a signature on the the inside of the electronics cover?
Anyone have a pic of it?

??...your asking if anyone has a pic of the electronics cover of your bass?

or you asking what Pete's sig looks like?....

Probably the latter...It would look like a fish with "Pete" scribbled in it

You should try googling stuff...this took about 8 seconds to find

Didn't know that period was so 'revered'.
I don't plan on letting it go.

Here's a sound clip...
Rush Middletown Dreams: T. Pesch, bass guitar - YouTube

lol...didn't know that was you...I have watched that vid like 10 times

with out a doubt....other than some of the early leather pick-guard Wals (which go for big bucks).... the ones made from early 90's to very late 90's were the best Wals made

I don't think I could watch that ten times! Thanks for spending so much time watching that.

That Wal is really nice. It is everything I was expecting it to be when it arrived at my house on that big brown truck.

Perhaps I should do a few more Rush play-alongs with the Wal sometime this year...

You know...before I'm too old and can't play anymore.

About 2 years ago a mid 90's black Geddy MKI with gold hardware went for $7450 on EBay

I have watched EVERY eBay Wal auction (worldwide) for the last 6-1/2 years!

Don't sell it....if you are going to...please email me first !!

As hurting cash-wise as I am now, I still wouldn't part with that...or my Ric 4080/12 doubleneck....or my Ric CS. Those three alone, could pull me out of debt and then some, but I'd rather be swimming in debt than to not have those anymore.

According to the Wal website, the starting price for a new Mk I (presumably) is 3500 GBP, which comes down to about $5500 US. Where are you getting $10,000? And the only number I've seen in this thread for a deposit is 500 UKP, which is about typical for custom builders and is less that 20% of the price. Have you heard some other amount for the deposit?

Delivery time is dependant on the final spec and could be up to 15 months approximately, from receipt of deposit.

To confirm, I would ask for a £500 deposit on placing the order, £1000 when the neck is in process and the balance to be paid before dispatch/or on collection

This was back in October.....

From Marcos's thread....his opening post mentions the cost of the new Wal he has ordered:

"Hi guys,

I've just ordered a Wal bass (17 month wait!).

Total value in USD will be 5.8K.

How do we pay taxes in this case? Do I have to pay at the moment of the delivery? What's the % in this case?

Anybody with experience in a case like this?

Thanks!

Marcos"

I emailed Paul in december, and approximately 3 weeks later he answered me with a quote.

He is a very nice and polite man, answered tons of questions til I finally realized I wasn't shure of the specs I wanted.

He asked me a 500 pounds deposit and a definition of the neck's specs.

When the neck is processed, another 1000 pounds deposit (via paypal, plus 4,5% pp fee)

Balance should be paid on delivery. I could choose facings after I decided what I really wanted, but neck should be defined first.

MK 1 starts at 3500. A MK I Geddy should go for 4.4k pounds due to the black gloss finish (much more expensive than satin) and gold hardware.

MK 2 and 3 starts at 3650.

I trully recommend dealing with Paul. It's definitely not cheap, but a Wal worths every penny.

Best
