My friend just reminded me of the wonderful Mick Karn

Yes I agree with you both. Still I feel the second hand prices of Wals go way over the top these days. I am glad I already have two.

I say 30-40 hours lol
This is a bargain compared to the two sold in japan. Much nicer too with the added options.
Just as I thought, less than 24 hours. That maple Mk2 is now marked "On Hold" for a buyer.![]()
They may be “over the top” in comparison to some other brands new/used ratios but people are paying it. I think the long wait list is part of it. If any custom Wal could be built and delivered in 2 months I think used prices would drop. When you are talking about waiting 2+ years for a bass...you’ll probably be more inclined to spend a little extra if you can get a used one delivered in a week. Also, Wal seems to hike their prices every year so naturally sellers are gonna ask more for their used ones. I sold my MK1 for $1,100 more than I paid for it. And like Mike said above...it’s just gonna keep going up.Yes I agree with you both. Still I feel the second hand prices of Wals go way over the top these days. I am glad I already have two.
Ditto on the Sansamp. (with the Wal)My Wal thru a Darkglass B7K into a Mesa Subway D-800+ is a monstrous tone machine. I also have a Sansamp but I can't seem to find a tone that makes me happy with it.
Not to derail the Wal bass (as a brand) - would anyone care to share pedal board pics or maybe a mention of your "go to" pedals for your Wal. I am finding my pedals that i LOVE on some of my other bass', make the Wal sound Just Meh. I prefer the Wal and my Diamond compressor and a mildly dialed in Amptweaker Bass drive Jr. I do like a mild overdriven but thick tone. All the DarkG stuff (to ME) is far too trebly/glassy. I would love to hear other guys opinions of their gear. I wont tell anyone - promise.![]()
I am a pretty big effects nerd that goes through tons of pedals and I can say all these pedals play AWESOME with my Wal. I’m surprised on you guys struggling with the sansamp, I’ve found their gear to sound great with my Wal. I’m not a fan of the Darkglass gear with my Wal.i will take a pic of the current dial settings (Sansamp) tonight and post it - maybe i am totally wacked on how i have set it up. thanks for the pics palView attachment 3352810 View attachment 3352811 I am a pretty big effects nerd that goes through tons of pedals and I can say all these pedals play AWESOME with my Wal. Well I am also talking the sansamp RBI. Not the pedal. I use the rack unit as an always on unit in my signal chain.i will take a pic of the current dial settings (Sansamp) tonight and post it - maybe i am totally wacked on how i have set it up. thanks for the pics pal

How much longer is your wait on your new Wal?Most people don't have all the money to pay for a Wal up front, which is why they pay the amount over time once an order has been placed. This is how I was able to guarantee myself a Wal. My other Wal was just an extra, unforseen purchase. Still makes me happy though.
Well thanks man, I really appreciate the compliment. I always try to get nasty Wal tones for my YouTube videosYour videos showcase the best tones I've ever heard on any bass guitar.
I'm really lazy with tone, which is why I bought a Wal. It's going to give you a great tone regardless of what settings you use, within reason.

Awesome man, that’ll be sweet to go pick it up.I sent Paul an email today asking what the estimated week of completion will be. I guess it's around the last week of January or early February 2020. So, about 10-11 months. I hope to make the trip for collection of the bass in person.
