Am I trippin'. Or missing the 3/8" nut and washer on the jack? Cable's getting loose. What kinda Switchcraft "13" is it anyway- there's like "13, 13A, 13E". None of the blueprints appear to have 4 prongs like the MK3 but they all have nuts and washers..

Ah shew! Crazy. Its tricky to tighten even more. It's flushed up hard! Like hard hard. I just used a washer about 1mm thick and that was way too big. What do you think about TFE thread tape at this point?
You could certainly try it. There is nothing grounding to the black housing, so wont affect anything.

10-4. I'll grab some. I'd rather not use thread tape. Definitely need take up some slack somewhere: Curious if the cardboard-like layers lose integrity after a couple decades. Retightened the brass bushing in the jackplate stem. That will help. Have you ever flushed a wood insert that was kinda proud? I know how to do it, but on something this small, I hesitate. One thing, I still marvel at the craftsmanship in these basses. Truly special. It's like working on a car, only way better. Ha!
1987 Wal Mk1 Custom
This 1987 MK1 has been available for sometime. Recent price drop...........but still not cheap. Not sure he is willing to sell to USA........but may be worth investigating if one is willing to deal with the additional expense and headache of international shipping, CITES bureaucracy, and import/duty fees. Certainly not for everybody but may be for somebody.

When my wife saw this picture, even she said that I should try to buy it lol.
It is very unique! If I recall correctly, I think Paul Herman had posted pictures of the facings when the bass was being built, but I never did end up seeing the completed product until a few days ago.
How would you guys feel about a Wal trade with somebody from outside talkbass? I’ve spent so many years buying/selling/trading on this forum and take for granted the fact that people’s feedback ratings are available and it’s generally people I “see around” on the forums. The idea of doing a high end gear swap with no feedback system sketches me out a bit I guess. I was honestly just looking for some opinions on what your guys thoughts were.
There are lots of long time Wal owners that are known on other pages that don't hang out here.

It’s somebody from the UK. Messaged me from the Wal lovers page on Facebook. His name is Carl Bowdler.
To be honest, talkbass isn’t what it used to be with regards to the bass market. I hear Facebook is becoming the next best place for Classifieds. Personally, I like this site a lot....but few Wals seem to be making it out of the EU.
I got my Poly Black Wal from a member from Hong Kong in 2015. Before that was 2013 I believe I bought the Olive Ash MK3 5 I had that had the busted truss rod.
The next Wal encounter wasn’t until 2016 / 2017 I believe which was a local deal done with one of THE best members apart of this club, Toolmybass.
That was an American Walnut MK2 4 that consequently burned in the house with a ton of other basses and equipment in Ventura, California.
I should have never of sold that bass, I should of had it re-fretted. Never thought that 4 string Wals would be as rare as hen’s teeth. But they are.
Hey there, i bought my Wal Mk2 a couple of years ago now from a person on Facebook - on the Wal FB page. I didnt know them before they advertised the bass for sale on the Wal FB page. They were from Germany and i bought the bass from them and had it shipped all the way over to New Zealand (where i live). I did appreciate that with any transaction there was a risk, including when it involved buying from somebody on FB, but also when doing any transaction through any other means including ebay, talkbass regardless of feedback ratings or buyer protections. I recommend you at least find out the full name of the seller and get their personal contact details and get in contact with them as a starting point. I done the purchase using Paypal in order to get the buyer protection + full insurance with the postage company. I managed to get lots of pictures of the bass before it was sent.
