Yep, I spent 2 fruitless hrs on Mouser! Still learning about coulombs and farads. I'm familiar with Ohms and Power Laws— EIRP, but not so much w/ coulombs and farads yet.
The taper is at the bottom of the capacitors themselves, just above the legs. You can see if you looksee again—

ummm, yeah the bottom end has a taper or a roll (the end with the legs).
I guess I'm not getting why that taper is concerning.

Didn't know if that was an early warning sign of potential leakage or just a manufacturing thing. Last couple days, I've been trying to reign in the low strings tendency to "fart out" a bit— particularly, on the neck PU. Trim is at 0%. If I lower PU any more, it'll be close to flush w/ body! Ha!

My Wal has the most distance between strings and pickups of all my basses, I can nearly fit my pinky finger between... that Mk1 is very middy already, and bringing it closer only tends to make it overly barky. It sounds great - nearly the same level as the pickup surrounding. its a 4-string.

On my passive basses I usually only have about 2-3mm distance. On the Spector with its active EMGs even less. As high as possible without hitting the pickup case.

Not an indicator of any leakage, that roll or bulge at the end of the taper is supposed to be there.

Sorry to kill the vibe with my conservative (and, ahem, 'well gigged') brown 1985 Custom but here she is, warts and all. Mahogany body with wenge facings and an ebony board. I've given her a once over with the duster and treated her to a new set of strings. I've had her 19 years and she holds a special place in my heart. Those of a sensitive disposition may want to look away now....

My pal borrowed it for a project a few years ago and it came back with paper dots glued to the fretboard.. I wasn't best pleased!
