funny its looks like the guy raised up the prices to $4000.... i'm wondering if he's seeing all these recent Wals sales selling like hotcakes and trying to cash in.....I don't think a re-issue pro isn't quite valued that high yet....

I saw that he raised it. There certainly have been a ton of Wals for sale lately. Probably just hoping he can fetch a bit more for his. Its a cool bass but I don’t think I could get down with a non “MK” bass.

Yes, it would have come from the factory that way. The suggested/factory specs are more of a starting point and adjust to taste.
As far as your second question, not sure what you mean.....ruler?
I like this picture. Where the sun line changes makes it appear like the bottom half of the photo is cold and dead while the top looks bright and vibrant. There appears to be a dead and wilted flower drooping on the right hand side while shining sun beams off the headstocks of these two beauties. I have obviously looked into this pic more than necessary but needless to say, I enjoy it
@Toolmybass Just put in new hardware and didn't think I'd have to tighten the pups down that much again. It's hot. I'll keep crankin'. Thank you, sir!
If you want to get fancy...you can use a radius guage to set your pole heights to match your fb

lol thanks....ya all the snow melted recently and it was a nice day to take a pic of these lovely two ladies..... gonna need to do some extensive yard work lol
Oh! @kulit17 gotcha. I have machinist rulers and gauges. Paul sent me free hardware— So I decided to learn as much tech as I could and deep clean and go over with a fine-tooth comb:
- Disassembled Preamp: Made sure to buy solder gun just in case.
- documented all 4-band resistors (most gold band ± 5% tolerance- but vast differences in ohmic values btw)
- documented all capacitors and ratings (ceramic, film, electrolytic, etc) (microFarads, voltages), transistors and IC. . . I am concerned it may be hard to match replacement parts if I ever need them.
- Potentiometers: Cleaned and lubed
- PUs: removed, cleaned, new height screws, poles, and compression springs. Repainted conducive paint in all cavities. Don't remember screwing down the PUs that much before. It sounds good, more open and growly. It was a pain to line up all the springs btw!
- Tuners: Hipshot sent me free tuners also. I installed one to see how it felt bc they're chrome satin. Not a big fan of the stamped "Hipshot" logo on the base housings. Undecided.

What's causing the misalignment of the strings? The 3rd string isn't lined up with neck inlays, but it appears if I tweak the neck, the geometry would throw the strings off more in different places over the poles.

@Caca de Kick Mike, I did not. In the middle of recording, restringing now actually. When I do send, it'll be for the pickup covers as well.
I'm not too shabby w/ a solder gun. Did you notice the bottom taper on the caps? I saw where you replaced yours, but dont know the best site for matching components.

Yeah they're very easy to replace when you're handy with a soldering gun. They are nothing special: 4.7 microfarad radial capacitor. Wal has used 25v,35v and 45v, any of those will work all the same. I get the 35v since that's what Wal currently uses. You can find them at Mouser or Radio Shack websites, even ebay.
