When i used a SR with a Tool setup in February. I had to add a second Rat pedal and a Sansamp VT pedal to my signal right before going in the amp. I later switched the VT for a DG B7K and got it to sound better.

I then had these onboard settings on the SR
Volume 10
Tone 4
Tone 3
Boost 5

Yes he added another amp to his rack.So now he has four of them.The pedal comment, was just me based on what I had to do to get “the” sound i wanted out of it, along with this new mystery one knob white pedal on his board.
I should note that I was just using the GK 2001 and the Mesa 412 I wasn’t running two channels when in Florida.
I will see if i can get some audio clips of that rehearsal.

I'm assuming the additional amp is because of the output difference between a StingRay and a Wal. To use both basses on the fly, you need a pretty different gain and eq settings. A Wal has like three times more output than a StingRay.

Another update on the fate of W2503 and her rehabilitation process (see my August 4, 2018 and June 11, 2019 posts for the full story - pic heavy).

I opted to go with a rosewood skunk stripe to address the center seam issue on the body and asked my luthier (Ed Cox of Cox Guitar Repair) to try and match the original (well, 30+ year old) finish on the bass. I think he nailed it and absolutely LOVE the way that the tint brings out the figuring in the wood:

I’m waiting for refurbished electronics and some replacement hardware from Wal and, with a little luck, should have a fully assembled, almost “new” Mk 1 in another month or two. Pics of the final product to follow.
