I'm the odd man out I like #3, but they all look great!
#1 and 2 for a natural or subtle translucent tint. #3 for a sunburst like you describe...

I still prefer the eyes of #1. There's really no wrong choice here though.
i cant not see stewie in #1 now, LMAO
With the burst #3 is still my favorite .I like the uniform quilt throughout, and it looks like the quilt around the template is a little less figured which would go with the darker parts of the burst beautifully. IMO
