It is hard to tell for sure cause he also does a lot of detuning of his E string of his 4 string. Even to B sometimes.

I know it goes up every year, but just thought Tool may have made a difference in orders. Plus I incorrectly stated Mk1 & 2 as same price. It's 2 & 3 that's the same isn't it. Doh!
That's actually a pretty good question. I'd think they got maybe a couple of new orders (really like 2-3), but I would think for most part the prices of new scared anyone else away that doesn't know what a Wal is.
Good Morning everyone! I was curious if anybody else has had a similar problem with their Wal, to the one I encountered the past several days with my 2017 Wenge six string. Every string seems to make a consistent volume when played except for the "G" string is much quieter than the rest. Should I unplug the circuit boards and try some DeOxIt? I have messaged Paul and Co. but thought I would ask here as well in case I can find a remedy sooner. Any advice or information on the matter is very appreciated.

Does it happen with just the neck or bridge pickup, or with both of them? How are the G string pole pieces set?
Thanks for the reply Mike! It happens on both the Bass and Treble pickup... the pole pieces are clean, and a little further from the string than the "D" string. But the "C" sting Is even further away, and the "C"string is louder than the "G". I read once before in this forum about someone having a similar problem and I believe it was remedied using a little DeOxIt on the circuit boards adapter.
And now we down to $5,500. Get it while it lasts. Can hardly buy a used fretted Wal for that price lol.

After years of sitting in its case and me being unhappy with it, I am taking my Wal MkIII 5'er in for - hopefully - repairs tomorrow.
It's a sad story. The neck is bowed and the truss doesn't want to move. The frets have sprouted knives trying to slice my fingers off. The jack seems like something isn't quite right and why in the world is the G saddle pushed all the way forward and *still* doesn't intonate properly?
But my god, it sounds like a beast. Please send good wishes for a full recovery. This was the bass I wanted to love.

Measured my circa 81 ProIIe with paddle headstock and not a V neck.
Bridge is 18mm spacing
Width at nut 40mm
He should go back to playing them.
Isn't that his bass? Seems like he is just practicing for his own on that video, not really performing?
I believe that's his own, but not the skinny one he's more famous for. Where else could you find a Wal at a NAMM show? I don't think I've ever seen them there. They may as well not waste the money since they're over booked.

The last time Wal went to NAMM was 2001.
As for the bass, many or most companies bring their own instruments to demo their product...could be owned by the EBS company. Darkglass owns their own Wal, and I know somone big wig at another company who's Wal gets used for several ops.
I just doubt he would be such the endorser of Warwick with a model and all and travel half way across the globe with another bass.

The initial reaction was "I'm not scared... yet."
I have a feeling there will be some science involved in getting the neck back to its regular state. And I've been advised that it might take a little while. But if the end result is good then it will be worth it.
