Wal Bass Club.

Jonas and Geddy are the main reasons I picked up a Wal to begin with, so it's great to hear him playing one again, even if it's not his!

I believe that I heard he was making a special appearance on behalf of EBS just in recognition of his long relationship with them, even though he's a Warwick endorser. That doesn't look like any of the (many) Wals I've seen him play, which leads me to believe it belongs to EBS, but still cool to see!

He should go back to playing them.

Fresh pictures of my 1988 Wal MK2 in Polyester Black...

So cool that Geddy Lee owns a 1986 MK2 5 with Chrome hardware. I like the gold better!

I spoke with Jonas after the performance. I don’t recall if that was his Wal but I did ask him if he still had his Wal double-neck. He said he still has 2 of them. :)

Over on the fb Wal owners page, someone asked so Jonas posted a pic of his two double neck basses. One bass has midi electronics in it, the other bass is 'just' a regular double neck.

I wonder if he still has any of his special-made black single H basses.

There may be an opportunity for a Wal Club member to own this bass as I’m considering continuing my experience with other basses brands. I’m not answering any questions with regards to this post on this thread, start a conversation with me if you want further details.

There was much derision about the price over on the Wal FB page... of course, he can ask whatever he likes. The only question will be is anyone willing to pay that price! ;)

That’s the definition of a free market for sure. I’m surprised because we know the additional cost (high shipping, duty, etc) to get it to North America which is over and above his price. It’s not even Polyester either which adds to the price tag.

At $7800 (and it even included the midi gear) no one wanted my 5er :D And it was custom color and already here in North America.

If it were a 4 string that Reverb bass would have sold in a heartbeat.

Silly people that like just the 4s! :)
Your 5 should have sold Mike!
People have been holding back on buying right now.

Wal 5s are much more epic in comparison to the 4s. But that’s my opinion. So I’m happy the 5s are more reasonable used. If I want another 4 (or somehow didn’t get one in trade) I’d rather order a new one, that isn’t happening soon.I have more fun trading basses and experiencing other brands as I’ve got two Wals. I don’t need more.

Used instruments everywhere have gone up considerably in the past few years, kind of like real estate.

Maybe the midi ones are less popular? Still 7800$ is a lot of money for most people.

well, the midi 4 that was listed at the same time as my 5 sold for far more (8500) and it sold pretty fast.

You can leave the midi equipment at home and still gig these basses the same as any Wal.

there's a guy in the Germany selling a 6er for a bargain...also on basschat.

Wal Mk3 Bass 6 string fretted with Wal logo Hiscox case

Hi! That is mine!
Not every german is a Ebenezer Scrooge:thumbsup:
:we do not have a heart emoji!: I know @Waler 's bass! I have this listing saved and open it occasionally to check whether it's still available. I eventually want to own it. He even dressed it up with a jacket and a Canadian lapel pin. It almost seems like it wants to take the journey! This is among the top 3 of my wishlist.
