Man, I can definitely remember a few people scoffing at my purchase price of $8200 for my Geddy Spec 2017 Mk1 here on TB just a few months ago! Funny how things work... I was given a very generous price too when you look at what's happening elsewhere. I hope the buyer of the MKII enjoys the hell out of his new bass. The super urgent split-second reaction time to acquire any Wal is very real! The demand is only going to go up from here and I see no end in sight I hate to say it. I genuinely feel sorry for those who have to very patiently wait for a brand new one... I could never do it!

I still can't believe someone actually paid 15k for that bass or any other bass for that matter. I thought 8k was already (too) much. I totally love Wals but I think it is being close to ridiculous and hyped now. I wonder what Paul thinks of this...

My brand new Wal from earlier this year cost me less than that, even with conversion rates and the cost of the vacation to pick it up. It certainly is exorbitant, but hopefully the outcome is both people involved are happy with the deal.

I just spoke with someone yesterday who was ordering a new Wal direct.
I told him....you won't regret buying it. The new Wals are totally worth it.
I really dig the two I own.

Even with mentioning I love both my 5 and 6 string Wals, which I'll still confirm I do, I'd be interested in trading one of them for a 4 string, more than likely an MK2 or MK3. I'm also one of those rare birds that will accept non-Wal trades (i.e. Fodera, Alleva Coppolo, Carl Thompson).

Great condition...with LEDs.
But I understand wanting a four string. Let me know if you end up expanding your trade interests.

Yep... I'm no fan of 5-string basses, natural finishes, or 5-string basses with natural finishes... but I'm totally enchanted by that there fiver. Totally.

Definitely no where near $15k, a good bit less than half of that...

it's an early 90's Wal it appears. Peter used "dumbo" schaller tuners around this time. "want not, waste not"....these style tuners were the one schaller sent to them around this time. they can be replaced with the standard M4S or even better on a 5er the M4S Lights.

it's a '92-'93 era thing. These are the same dumbo ears Schaller was using on the Fender tuners of the same period, and I think (just an observation) Schaller bozo'ed a big order to Wal and that what they ended up with so just used them up. The gold equipped basses of '92-'93 didn't get dumbos, just the chrome ones.
I'm sure they're adding even more weight to an already heavy headstock.
